Apple has been taking a lot of heat about not adopting AI fast enough in its products, but it has a good reason. They aren't buying into the hype.

M365 Admin News. Happy Monday! This week the USA entered the war between Iran and Isreal. Do we have tech worries? Yes we do. Iran has a very capable cyber war unit that has hit the UK, USA and Isreal in the recent past. Seems reasonable to assume that we'll see an uptick in that activity now. Though we don't get deep into security in this newsletter; I've included an article on this topic.
There are a few topics this week that are dear to me. I've long asked admins to set restraints on how applications get access to data and now Microsoft is making those settings a new default! The other one, is Entra Join. Just do it. Life for your users becomes so much simpler, the devices get cleaner and safer too.
I've also included a couple of articles for you to share with helpdesk staff and customers. Laptop power settings and using document templates on your iPhone. They'll be sure to thank you.
Tech to worry about

Picking stocks has been under heavy automation for a long time so this is no surprise. AI is coming for white collar jobs at a fast clip. I am myself using an AI automation for crypto buying and selling and it works.

The expanded BRICS bloc, led by Russia, is rapidly reshaping AI governance and innovation, challenging Western dominance with a new multipolar AI ecosystem. If we take out eye off the ball, this emerging alliance highlights threat.

Seems like this needs to be a new law. Keeping AI task to monitor misuse isn't something that every company will do. It's a case for government oversight. It's a seatbelt moment.

Historically innovation grows from the basic research done in universities funded by government. But Trump has shaken this up. We're getting todays investment but will we get tomorrow's without being the home of research too? Who gets those two weeks? How much productivity is enough productivity? These are tough questions that will need answers as AI improves enough to take over more of our work. Do we continue to just work people harder?
