I was chatting with a friend yesterday who had attended a No Kings rally in rural Wisconsin. She mentioned that people brought u.s. flags to promote a theme of, "We're just as american as people on the right."

I mentioned that I would have refused to carry a u.s. flag because I actually DO hate this country very, very much.

I said that I probably would have carried a pirate flag with me instead.

And really, a skull and bones does summarize my feelings about the u.s. rather perfectly.

Well, it looks like Chuck Schumer stuck his foot in his mouth while the rest of us might consider sticking a foot up his ass.

But that means it's just another day ending in "y", you know?

I think one of the most sensible and practical aspects of this universe and its physical laws is this:

The distance between stars and livable planets is so great that is likely impossible for humans to venture very far beyond their own solar system.

For whomever else and whatever else lives in this universe with us, they are granted a degree of safety from our violence, abuse, and exploitation by these vast distances.

I am thankful for this.

But anyway, I remember spider friend fondly. I'm pleased that they thought I was a nice place to hang out, even if it was just for a little bit.

They climbed to the top of a pole in the center of the table, spun out a thread of silk, waited for the air currents to attach/snag it to some other surface, and then they climbed along their tether...

To my friend's walker. OH NO.

I transported spider friend to the railing of the deck.

And things were just fine after that.

They wanted to climb, up, up, up my arm and I decided that maybe I didn't want my new spider friend in my hair, so I put them back on the table.

Yesterday, I was hanging out with two friends on an outdoor deck. I noticed a little jumping spider moseying around on the table near me. I like jumping spiders. I watched them a little bit, smiled, and then returned to the conversation between my friends.

A few moments later, I looked down at my arm and the jumping spider decided that I was a pretty nice place to hang out and was crawling around on me.

For a moment, I wondered if I should be alarmed but then I decided to just go with it.

I don't think we're going to miss the trash Mike Lindell is selling. We've got dollar stores.

Of the three, I think Mickey is the most relatable.

And we both have nuclear arsenals.

And we should NOT be trusted with those weapons.

Personally, I don't think ANY country should be trusted with nukes because humans are assholes, in general, but the u.s. and Israel have proven on a grand scale how deep our asshole behaviors run.

Israel's racist, war mongering, colonizing, genocidal bullshit is not unlike this country's racist, war mongering, colonizing, genocidal bullshit.

We both suck. And we support each other because we see the similar bullshit aspects in each other and as countries go, we've been just peachy with all of that for a very long time.

Did you not notice the part where I also called my own country a complete fucker? Because we are. The horrible bullshit that Israel exemplifies is also the horrible bullshit that my own country exemplifies.

And they both suck.

When it comes to observing the horrible nature of the world's bullshit countries, I'm an equal opportunity critic.
