Bournemouth #EMOM no 7 delivers another storm.
Think like an artist, change the world.
I'm the bloke from Momo:tempo, the voice of Unsee The Future, co founder of the emerging Rogue Futures Initiatives and I want to energise you to write and sing the new songs and stories of us.
I'm especially talking to the unseen, the in-between worlders, the creative generalists. You liminal freaks can handle paradox – grab your things, you're up.

Give it a moment.
Let the air settle.
The ringing fade.
The shock wave pass through.
Hold still another moment.
Creativity will come.
@SimonBrett @Setok Yeah, I gave it a spin on Bandcamp but haven't studied it in headphones. His creative verve is a life goal for us all at this point.
Your periodic reminder that it is 100% legal, under both US and international law, to arrive at a nation's borders and apply for admission or asylum.
Calling migrants "criminals" or saying "they broke the law" is simply false.
In the spirit of Unsee The Future, then, finally three brothers and I are sharing the very first ever episode of our new creative chatcast, Intertwingularity – a show so long in the making I had its sig tune recorded six years ago. But you know how time works.
Join @SimonBrett Lee, Andy and me every month somwhere.

I'm leaving to host a corporate event this week. Better wind in the post-capitalist ennui for the first couple of days, hadn't I.
Found myself quietly wondering tonight, on a dark rainy coach ride. We might have a year of revolution shocks this year, but what if the real *shock* is that everything will still kinda be here by the end of the century, looking much the same. Trundling on. Taking longer than we imagine to wind out the old world. Because it's part of the old world's imperative to have you live perpetually at the end of all things, slack jawed. Second by second. Not century by century.
@AOTAS IKR?! At last a first trial episode is out there. Let's see if we get any good at it. Thanks for sharing.
The opening statement for a stupifying case at the #ICJ is grimly clear. Tembeka Ngcukaitobi speaks at the Hague to indict Israel of genocide, describing evidence as ""overwhelming and incontrovertible." He notes a distinctive element of this case is how openly leaders and soldiers declare their intent.
Israel is a young nation supposed to have been born out of a spirit of "never again". Calling it to account is a test of global law's capability.
.
I'm reading and LOVING Ray Nayler's 'The Mountain in the Sea'. It's got AI, the hard problem, phenomenology, a fictional version of 'how forests think' but for oceans, and epic characters in compelling situations around the world. Honestly I feel the book was written for me.
Also a huge shout out to one of my favourite 2023 reads, The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera - another complex, page-turning full-bodied grappling with big ideas, world-building and characters I care about.
We just finished Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, and I will now begin the petition to get Toby Jones to star in a four part drama about how the British government procured PPE during the covid lockdowns.
Made emy first march for Palestine at last today, in my home town. Couple.of hundred people moving around Bournemouth and it felt like other people just kinda got it. This feels different. #palestine #israel
I'm up and making coffee. Need one? x
#2024
If you haven't felt it this year, may you find your flow in 2024 - it will carry you right around some things you once thought as obstacles.
Love, justice and creative confidence, my dear Earth sibling. Go realize the future you want. x
Look, finding myself attempting to watch films painfully via *television* over Christmas, can we just agree to give us all the rest of the week and then just bin every movie made before 2020? Just... surely. Now. Please.
Apart from Die Hard which... fine.
But that's it.
“And the great owners, who must lose their land in an upheaval, the great owners with access to history, with eyes to read history and to know the great fact: when property accumulates in too few hands it is taken away. And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds through all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed."
Rereading Grapes of Wrath. Whew.
Just had a lovely meeting in the alpine bar in #Bournemouth on a very wet December evening with m'colleagues from the little team that made the town centre summit two weeks ago today. Change can feel weird and uncomfortable, but it feels too like we took the first step for my brilliant and frustrating home town.
Helping to creatively make the place where we live and feel we should be, that's how we make the futures we want.
Friday's #UnseeTheFuture expo.
Sixty years ago tonight, the greatest sig tune in the universe was broadcast for the first time. It came free with a telly show that inspires, charms and haunts us all to this day. Ten years ago I paid homage in my own way at the blessed Phonicon, for folk that felt like family immediately. This footage may be sweaty-res but the sound is still worth wacking right up.
Happy birthday, #doctorwho You are brilliant. And have led me to some of the most brilliant people. x
