I own a miniature "netbook computer", the best selling type of computer from 2009 to 2011 (I believe) that's been unused for 8 years. Unlike the last generation of netbooks, with larger screens and normal sized keyboards, my Eee-PC 900A is a real 1st gen netbook: the keyboard is the right size for touch-typing toddlers and the 8GB flash is, like, small. It has a 32bit CPU; Bookworm is the final #Debian release supporting it. It now runs the latest Firefox ESR. Slow, but it works.

A random thought. Are share bookcases a form of mutual aid? You give away books that you don't need, and other take what they like.

Often people put other stuff in there. I found a bag for 500 1 pound coins, which I use to protect my books in my backpack from getting crushed by my other stuff.

The down side of this share bookcases is that (christian) religious organizations flood it with their propaganda. I take it on my myself to remove this and put it where it belongs, the old paper bin.

As the description says, these were taken from a ferry close to Rotterdam. Me and a friend spent 5.5+ hours on our bikes, enjoying a day off; no rain, bit of sun, decent tailwind on the way back, good company, 150+km.

@ascentale A8. I printed this light mount in soft squidgy TPU rather than more brittle PLA and it seems to have had a good week.

Since then I have printed a tether from TPU re-usable cable ties because I don't know how long it'll last. See Q3!

Happy to have found a model for a mount compatible both with my light and my saddle bag.

There’s a few things that make me love bikes. The self-sufficiency of being able to do much of my own maintenance and repairs is one, the feeling of connection to community is another. I got to the estuary shuttle today just as it went on break, so I detoured up over the bridge, which took me past the coast guard island protest. Being on my bike gave me a great position to shout encouragement and thanks to the protestors.

@ascentale @edd @bikenite A3: There are many hills on this side of Nagoya, but I only use riding cleats for distances over about 10km. For me at least, they help on longer rides by a small reduction in effort that adds up over time. On grades that steep, cleats might help a *little*, but at the cost of some quick thinking if you slow to a stop while attempting a climb with maybe a passenger on board. There are 51-tooth cassettes now, you'd probably be better off doing the drive train

Having tried with/without clips, it's only marginally better, and there's a HUGE downside, which is you have to wear clonky bike shoes into the grocery store and not kill yourself when tripping because they are not made for walking. Unless you go mountain pedal clips and special shoes. And it's not going to help. What I would do is change your front chainring to the smallest one possible on your bicycle.

While riding my roadbike I have that feeling frequently, too, but instead of stopping I lift the wheel while riding, bouncing it on the road, feeling whether the pressure is still ok. Saves me from stopping.

Dit weekend was weer één van onze klimtrainingen, waar een paar dozijn nieuwe activisten getraind werden hoe ze veilig de boom in kunnen gaan (en een paar oude garde voor wie het wel eens tijd werd 😉, je weet wie je bent).

Natuurlijk gaan jullie massaal op 29 okt stemmen op partijen die voor behoud van Amelisweerd zijn, waardoor het nieuwe kabinet de verbreding van de A27 door de shredder haalt 🚮. Maar mocht het nodig zijn, dan zijn wij er klaar voor.
