End of year album promo. Fine music for spreading out across interior or exterior landscapes. #experimental, #ambient, #drone, etc. Maybe veering into #contemporaryclassical, #modernclassical in a few tracks, though I don't really have the street cred to rep those genres. Price is pay-what-you-want, but codes below, also codes for the first album.

Özcan Saraç - Neural Generators of the Auditory Brainstem Response (track 2. Op.7, 1st movement)

this one's too long to listen to in a single sitting (for me at least) so i listened to track 1 earlier today, 2 rolling now. the travel each track takes is hard to grasp given how dense some of the sounds are. it's certainly rewarding when stumbling into some clarity & groove, enveloped by the metal & choirs, as the drum machine dissolves... very nice stuff.

@alisynthesis agreed! sometimes the reorganization/refresh leads to some nice changes & interesting options. that's part of my consideration actually, having a 'main' setup & also having a flex space for trying out different things.

good to hear yours has come together (just rub it in why don't you! lol). was there anything in particular that made it all work? i remember you mentioning your patch bay is key but can't place all your studio mentions off the top of my head...

Drummachinemike - I Hope This Never Finds You

this one sorta moves between almost conventional/commercially-oriented bedroom beats & experimental bits of collected detritus. not the sorta thing that usually tickles my brain but i kept listening & sorta fell into it, it's pretty interesting for what it is.

the hours i've wasted reading up on mixers & re-organizing my studio here in the last 3 or so years is...let's say, excessive.

needing to approach things from a different direction or mindset or plan of attack. idk yet. just thinking out loud here.

(pic from a temporary studio setup from ~8 years ago)

a dark room with various electronic instruments on it. a computer's glow and a computer screen (blurred) are also seen.

The instruction manual for the MPC Live II. I really like how instruction manuals look using this process, probably because of all of the vector diagrams.

I've made some music using the MPC but nothing I'm ready to release yet.

And collaged pdf of an instruction manual. All of the text is illegible but some diagrams are visible

Vladislav Delay - Visa

another artist whose work dominated my listening year was Vladislav Delay (partner of @poemproducer). fractured, dubby samples colliding in a disorienting minimalist yet maximalist style that is fully unique to him. so much to learn from his music.

Éliane Radigue - Feedback Works 1969-1970

Radigue is a towering figure in experimental music, a living legend of noise and ambient. this might be my favorite work of hers, typically long unfolding drones and strange textures.

moody bits of opsix recordings, i think originally designed for a game or something? not sure, this is a nice set of sounds & have always enjoyed his YT stuff

Also, I performed eczem live for the first time at Tarantella XX back in September. Thanks to @spednar for encouraging and facilitating the opportunity. A post-facto liveset recording of which may be released sometime in the not too distant future.
