as a kid, i also REALLY wanted holographic wings and other forms of light manipulation (yet also have that light be tangible? like the holographic touch screen menus in sci-fi??)

even just the ability to "power down" and charge as opposed to "sleep" would be a massive upgrade compared to current meat-status

i am doubly grateful for my friends and family, who tried their best to make things better for me. they all knew they couldn't fix it, but they tried to help me through it anyway and i'm very touched by that

use an Altoids container!

i've been carrying my kneaded eraser in a little altoids can for a year or two now, and it's still soft and pliable right out of the tin! no kneading required!

try it out sometime!

ONE RESOLUTION AT A TIME. If you try to change fourteen things about your life at once, you'll get overwhelmed and give up within a matter of days and convince yourself you're not strong enough to change. But you are; the trick is to change ONE THING AT A TIME and focus on it until it's become easy.

If you have something sleep-related on the list... you should probably start there. Sabotaging yourself by staying up late is an extremely common problem among the type of person likely to be reading this post. Learning to Stop Doing That will make sorting out the rest of your life magically so much easier.

✅️ made a couple games
✅️ filled out a sketchbook from start to finish
✅️ learned 5+ recipes
✅️ got into a new hobby (roller skating)
✅️ started a new job

additionally, i have:

✅️ read 12+ books
✅️ went to a TON of social events
✅️ put myself first in a major way
✅️ deepened my friendships
✅️ ditched bluesky
✅️ began dressing for myself (fashion wise)

it's been a good year (albeit nuanced), all things considered
