Red note is a cyber security and privacy nightmare. Don't install it. Rednote does literally everything tiktok is accused of potentially doing willfully and unapologetically. They don't even try to obfuscate it in code. #z0ds3c #tiktokban #TikTok #RedNote

I saw that TryHackMe's Advent of Cyber 2024 had a Web Sockets challenge and was hoping to bust out ronin-support-web's Web Socket helper methods to write up a script to exploit some kind of arbitrary bug chain. Unfortunately, it appears that you just have to change a user_id in one JSON message to get another user's data.

Super excited to be speaking at HuntersCON, where I'll be discussing how threat actors are bypassing Chrome's new infostealer protection, and how infostealers fit into the wider cybercrime ecosystem!

FWIW, BlueSky is probably worth also maintaining a presence on. They went the decentralized route too, and It took a bit of time but the users finally managed to bully Jack into leaving the company and selling all of his ownership.

I'm mostly active here & on BlueSky.

The BlueSky wiki is absolutely hilarious

Excerpt from the BlueSky Wiki explaining that posts are often referred to as "skeets" an ironic blend of the words "sky" and "tweets" despite the CEO begging people not to call them that.

It's okay that Bluesky will be successful and replace Twitter.

Most people like the service that a corporation gives to them. Most people are willing to trade the cons that go with that for the pros they receive.

I came to the Fediverse because I - personally - can't take those cons anymore. And the pros here work for me, again personally.

I don't need all the people in the world to use the Fediverse for me to enjoy the community here. Heck, most people didn't use Twitter. They used (and still use) Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat more.

Let people use Bluesky. I hope they enjoy it and it enriches their lives. It doesnt for me, so I won't be going. But we already have a critical mass here and its fine.
