below Jupiter sinking into the murk on April 11. Probably my last opportunity for this one

A noisy, heavily processed night sky scene, with blurry artifacts around the horizon from foreground object. In the center just above the horizon is the comet, which appears as a relatively bright smudge with a clearly visible tail pointing almost straight up. Jupiter is a bright disk near the center of the image, slightly to the left of the comet, surrounded by a ragged halo

(bottom center) below the last night, a bit later, more exposure and more frames than the previous shot. Again somewhat fake: Composite of the same stack aligned separately on the moon and stars.
Also visible: , Callisto, Ganymede, maybe Europa if you squint at the glare around Jupiter, and (relatively bright blueish object almost directly above Jupiter)

A night sky. A the top, the lit part of the crescent moon is over-exposed and drowned in glare, while the unlit part is quite brightly lit from earth shine. A foggy halo surround the moon. The next brightest thing, below and to the left of the moon is Jupiter, also over-exposed, with bright dots of Callisto and Ganymede almost lost in the glare. Almost directly above Jupiter is a fairly bright bluish "star" which is Uranus. At the bottom center, the comet is a greenish smudge with a faint tail pointing up.

(very faintly visible, upper left) over the last night. This is a somewhat fake composite of 100 4 second frames, aligned separately on the stars, moon and foreground. Too close to twilight to get much of the comet

Crescent moon, with the crescent heavily overexposed and the rest of the disk well lit from earth shine, setting over some blurry and somewhat distorted bushes, flowers and a rooftop against a very blue sky. A few stars are faintly visible along with a slightly smudgier "star" which is the comet

of the frames used for that shot up thread. So many more satellites, a few years ago I'd expect maybe 3-4 or in a shot like this. Doesn't really affect anything in this case (unlike the airplanes, which were bright enough to show up in a 240 frame average after stretching) but definitely noticeable

last night. Proper tail now, even with my unguided 10 year old P&S (Canon G7 X, 240x5s, ISO 800, 100mm EFL, aligned on the comet and stacked with hacky scripts and tortured in )

Night sky, with colorful stars and ugly noise between them, fading into brownish muck near the horizon, with some dark streaky artifacts of foreground objects blurred by stacking images aligned on the stars. The comet is toward the lower right, just above the worst of the muck with a green central coma and slightly bluegreenish tail fading to toward the upper right

Three protagonists of the evening sky!
(top left), (bottom middle, just above the roof) and comet right above the church tower. For those wanting to spot the , this should give some guidance where to find it (as well as some impression on how bright it currently is).

Photo of the sky, direction West. In the front, the roofs of houses and a church are visible. Several stars can be seen, a plane and a satellite, in addition to the planets Jupiter (very bright), Mercury and the fuzzy dot, the comet.

Tried that again last night. I can report that shooting with the shutter open significantly affects results. and are just smudges (as expected), but they're there

(You can also if you know where to look)

A composite image showing a late twilight sky, blue near the horizon fading to black at the top, the roof of a building the lower left and a tree in the lower right. Many stars are visible, perhaps as many as you'd see in a very dark location. ISS is visible as a dashed line, starting with short red dashes at the horizon on the lower left, increasing in length and fading to bright yellow-white as it passes over head. The brightest "star" in the scene, above the path of ISS is Jupiter. A slightly reddish smudge below and to the left is the Andromeda galaxy (M31) and a smaller green smudge below and to the left, only discernible if you enlarge the image is comet 12P Pons-Brooks

A colorful start field. At the upper right, the Andromeda Galaxy M31 is visible as an oblong reddish smudge, and at the lower left, a small bright green blob with a faint tail pointing toward the upper right is the comet

M31 the #AndromedaGalaxy with #Comet #12P/PonsBrooks taken on 3rd March 2024. The pink at the bottom is part of the amazing aurora we had that night! Widefield shot taken with a Canon 1100D 50mm fixed lens, 20 x 10 seconds stacked in #Sequator
