Last nights 13th Age game with library kids had an interesting engagement moment: once they killed the Specter of a Yuan-Ti general the two middle school kids (younger siblings of the HS kids) were 125% all in on “WHAT IS THE TREASURE!?” Yelling over each other for what they wanted.

Since this was a reskinned AD&D 1E adventure the hoard was fabulously detailed, feeding the sheer avarice on display.

„13th Age Glorantha“ hatte mir noch gefehlt und inzwischen interessiere ich mich auch dafür, das tatsächlich am Spieltisch einzusetzen. Ich mag 13th Age (dazu bald mehr auf @Moonmoth@moonmoth.de) und ich mag bekanntlich auch Glorantha - warum dieselbe Spielwelt nicht mal in einem anderen Spielstil erkunden?

For the library kids this week I took a very old John Nephew adventure from Dungeon #6 and reskinned it from a demonically tainted cairn to an under-the-burned-out-Yuan-Ti-temple dungeon with minimal effort. It was a joy to watch the older kids interact with the Yuan-Ti remains and ghosts and explaining to the younger kids all the shit that went down in the Forbidden City 18-20 months ago.

This is why you run long campaigns.

It has arrived!

#13thAge was a big #TTRPG blindspot for me, so looking forward to digging into 2e.

Side note - This is the best looking GM screen I have ever seen.

The #Christmas trolls were kind to me, giving everyone their favorite #d20 flavour. I had given up hope, but #13thAge 2e just arrived. Now, we can kill Santa Claus... The #escalation die made me smile! Nice. #DnD #ttrpg #13thAge2e #xmas

In the final session we really get our act together and bring down the hurt. After being pretty successful socially but largely ineffectual in fights, my sneaky rogue finally brings the hurt and takes down something meaty. All in a very enjoyable weekend

We sort out the time loop but then in dealing with the fallout, our priest gloriously faceplants of a balcony and is threatened with a coup de grace by the big bad so we take a rare campaign loss which means a temple is destroyed. But we have pointers to another and we go in search.

Another two days for the campaign we started in October with two new characters. I think there are 8 of us now. We fill in some background that my PC had already done but then go in search of trouble, helping a caravan and meeting a Dwarf Stand-Up. We get into a timeloop thing which was great fun.

I really like these little promotional videos for #13thAge. One of the few #DnD variants that I am (still/once again) interested in. Perhaps because the game doesn't obsessively dwell on the past like this whole #OSR nonsense?! Unfortunately, my #13thAge2e still hasn't arrived. Too bad. #TTRPG

Die neue zweite Edition von 13th Age ist da! Wer wie ich Lee Moyers Stil mag, wird mit dem Artwork sehr glücklich werden, denn davon sind TONNEN enthalten. Der Text ist wie bei Pelgrane üblich gut strukturiert und übersichtlich gesetzt - geschrieben wie gewohnt nicht ohne Humor und mit vielen Kommentaren für die Spielpraxis. Die Produktionsqualität ist wie oft bei @pelgranepress hervorragend: Die Bindung ist stabil, gedruckt wurde auf dickem Papier, das sicher einiges aushält.
