Happy birthday to David Balfe, ex Teardrop Explodes keyboard player and Strawberry Switchblade manager.
As well as doing all the admin, Balfey produced tracks from debut single Trees and Flowers to final single I Can Feel, he played keyboards on tracks like Beautiful End and Michael Who Walks by Night, and co-wrote Black Taxi too.

YouTube has been throwing various covers at me of "Season of the Witch," one would imagine in honor of Halloween. The one by Joan Jett is my favorite so far. Have you heard this version by the circa-1990 Boston band, Heretix? It is quite good.
Boston is Halloween's Music City, having produced the standard, "The Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett.

There is something pure and iconically rock n' roll at the heart of all of Mark Sandman's projects and bands, which manifested to an apex with his impossibly grooving band Hypnosonics. He knew: girls always, ALWAYS, want to DANCE - first and FOREMOST. Standing in front of a live band - they want to melt away their minds, forget about their emotions, let go of the world, and land - IN THE BODY, ON EARTH, eyes CLOSED - where the blood starts to pulse, and the hips start to shake, and the feet start to twitch and one is just - gone baby gone... to the beat of course, but also to every surprise thread of instrumentation - which is where the hands rejoice in their flourishes and the soul flies free alongside of every note and improvisation... At least, that's what always happened to me standing in front of these incredible players!!!!!
