I enjoy hanging out in the reptile house at the zoo. The glass causes an issue but this time I got through the glass for the one turtle. Could have set a larger depth of field to get the other turtle. Minor slider tweaks to bring it a little pop. #turtle #reptilehouse #2023photochallenge

I enjoy the zoo because it is a challenge working around the animals to get shots. I was surprised to see the lions out this time and was able to get a couple of shots. I placed the lion at an intersection post edit. Moved the sliders to try to warm it up a little bit. This was another shot from spiderwebs in the morning. Instead of getting the whole web with a clear subject I wanted to get the webs with the dew all over it. Using the screen zoom. Low ISO, tiny aperture for macro lens, and shutter speed to compensate since no subject to worry about. #webs #dew #2023photochallenge

Last of the sleeping insects from this trip. Was really pleased with the detail I got but probably could have angled it better. As I edited I was thinking how getting a shot of the wings would have been great. The iso was about 200, the aperture was about medium, the speed was a little longer. I don't normally like black and white shots. They feel pretentious in my mind. Like who am I to be moody. Other's can do it who have more of an artistic eye. Today I was stumped on what to do with this one. I lined the shot up trying to get the center on the ally. I like these little stinging insects when they are sleepy in the morning. Laid on the ground, anchored the top of this grass stem so it would be super still. Took my time to get a nice shot. These spiders are very easy to work with. Today I went for something different and wanted to focus on the foreground with the spider in the background menacingly. Used the screen to zoom in to focus on the foreground webs. Still lined up the spider as I wanted your eyes to end up there. Larger aperture though with macro that isn't saying much. Found this sleepy girl on my way back from my photo walk early in the morning. Messing with the zoom in the screen viewer to help me focus a little more. I think I got really close but the condensation makes me think it is fuzzy. Since the bee was sleeping long shutter delay, tiny aperture to get max depth of field, and lower ISO since the sun hadn't broken up the fog. #bee #macro #macrophotography #macrobee #2023photochallenge

Early morning walk with Eevee gave me a chance to scout out the area and come back with my camera. Saw these little mushrooms and enjoyed the look. Might have tried to straighten the caps if I thought about it but like the overlapping and only noticed that detail in edit. Used the screen to focus and started to zoom in to get the zoom perfect.
