Ellen DeGeneres apparently fled to Britain to avoid the new president-elect. But that's not an easy route for other Trump-o-phobes. japantimes.co.jp/commentary/20

Because I was too busy with the 2024 US elections, my college assignment submission got delayed. Moreover, because of the bad election results, it made me unmotivated to do my remaining assignments. Don't worry, I know how to handle it, at least it's still not past the deadline.

Virtually every day, you'll see protesters on Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square. Some rally for important causes, others peddle bizarre conspiracy theories. Doomsday preachers, anti-vaxxers, anti-communists, or religious zealots are par for the course, but this banner surprised me, comparing the US intervention in the Korean War (which broke out on June 25, 1950) with whatever it is these folks are doing to support Trump's bid for the US presidency. Just wow...

Korean pro-Trump protesters at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul hold up a banner that reads 'Make America Great Again! Make Korea Great Again!' at the center. On the left side of the banner is a photo of Donald Trump, on the right a photo of US combat troops of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment taken in May 1951, during the Korean War. Above that photo it says 'You were there for us in [sic] 6.25, we are here for you on 11.05,' referring to the dates of the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 and the 2024 US presidential election, respectively.

There will be considerable consistency in U.S. policy regardless of who wins the presidential election, however, and, unfortunately, many of them will trouble allies and partners. japantimes.co.jp/commentary/20
