Well, it's been a...challenging week. Normally I'm on social media for part of Saturday before signing off until Monday.

But I think I'll just get headspace from now this week.

Currently it seems to be updating correctly by running the installer through Steam (under Proton Experimental) rather than Lutris.

I'm on this diversion because I was sandwiched between wifey and NJ both on short-attention moments and NJ was stimming and watching Pokémon and I was stressed. I had #AFKJourney up and hit something that levelled all my squad "heros" to 240.

I have no idea why that's a thing for new players. So I've started over. Thankfully I was only a few hours in, before.

If I run is under GE-Proton (Latest) I can get #AFKJourney to this point. The download starts, but then I get "winserver crashed" in the logs.

But "ulimit -c unlimited" only works per session in the terminal so lutris crashes don't appear to be going in there.

Hey folks,

Random, not-LOTRO, not-FFXIV question. I was trying to reinstall #AFKJourney through @lutris.

It initially installs, but then updates the launcher (twice), hitting version 2.5. But when it tries to update to launcher version 2.6 it fails completely.

I don't know enough about #Lutris scripts to make sure it gets the latest launcher from the get-go.

Anyone in the #GamingOnLinux community have any ideas?

Being ill is kinda dangerous as a gamer. I've discovered that #AFKJourney is, in fact, cross-platform. So you can play on your PC and/or phone and you're in the right place whichever you load next.

I don't really understand the combat aspect of this game yet (you choose your team members but they fight, with minimal input from you).

But the animations are great and the VA so far seems really well done.

Even a mobile-installed game knows the power of simple, share-able "camera pose modes".

I'll be heading into FFXIV soon as I'm still really ill (and I'm at the doctors' tomorrow), but getting a look inside different types of games has been really interesting.
