I worry that people are so obsessed with the likely pedantic threat of #AGI that they have blinders on to the very real threats of today's #AI. You don't have to be smarter than a human to be dangerous, humans have been proving that quite effectively for the last couple million years while obliterating themselves & the only planet they live on. If I were a #VC trying to profit from #AI, I'd look for two things:
(1) #Neuromorphic computing to run #NeuralNetworks at orders-of-magnitude less energy (our brain is the existence proof)
(2) #Neurosymbolic AI to make it stop lying and start reasoning
If we want a shot at #AGI, we'll likely need both

It's only one minute long - worth watching and sharing!
And the disappointing thing about that is, these things are actually potentially really useful and valuable.
For instance, you could train a model on 10,000 MRI scans to detect cancer and run it locally on a laptop.
That would probably be quicker and more accurate than most humans.
It's the insistence on #AGI pursued by Silicon Valley that is the problem.
