Pretty excited for this year's show. I might do a thread on it once I can watch it, if not live. Fingers crossed for Flow, which is nom'ed in Independant Film. But also directing & writing. I think #TheWildRobot has the most noms this year at 10.

Another fun ceremony. I may have to check out #BlueEyeSamurai now. And I reeaally wish #ScavengersReign had won -something- (really? not even production design? !Production Design!?). But, it still got a few noms, which is ~something~. Glad that #Nimona won for female voice performance & writing. And #Spiderverse deserved every award it got [everything it was nom'ed for]. ..buuut, I wish #Nimona had won best film.
Loved Eric Bouza putting his career on line for protest too.

Mostly for comment one of the team gave regarding algo-art, or "#AI", that they stretched their acceptance time to give.
"All AI can hope to achieve is copy the -average- of our efforts. It can flatten innovation in the name of efficiency, but that is only karaoke, and it is -bad- karaoke." Full speech in the link.

#Nimona also won an #ANNIEs award for writing in a feature. The writers, Robert Baird & Lloyd Taylor, thanked ND Stevenson, and their families.
They also showed support to every #trans, #gay, #queer kid out there and everything they face.
They also dedicated the award to every BlueSky-er (the animation studio) who touched the film.

AHH, Cloe won for Voice Acting in a feature for #Nimona! The announcer mentioned her working in the GC #TheAddamsFamily movies. But I think her better performance was in #PrincessKaguya. But this award was well deserved too.

Apparently, disney got a special achievement award at the #ANNIEs. "..a special achievement award for their serv to art & the industry of #animation should be given to the artists of walt disney animation studios, thats right all of them" gasp from the audience.
Like, ..you couldnt award them individually? Why all of disney, who gets plenty of acclaim from their fans? And who has won most of the Oscars that went to animation. Is Warner Animation going to get one? This smells so skeezy.
