It came out a while ago and only for laptops, apparently Qualcomm wants to release a second iteration next year. Considering how good it fared against it's apple equivalents, i will be in check.

For a long overdue move from a single tower to a proper rack. Anyone have one and have thoughts on it or potential caveats?
I will run my #x86 board alongside it for certain workloads, but would like to move to this as the main machine. Not sure what my options would be for connecting a bunch of drives or if I'd be better suited building a NAS and not connecting drives to it.

It's kind of insane that it took this much time to finally get something like a normal PC for ARM/RISC computers, but alas, the Minisforum MS-R1.
For what it is, it does deliver a level of performance plus customization that unfortunately you won't see on the Raspberry pi... maybe ever. The iGPU is several times the power of the RP5, but you can also put a more powerful GPU like a normal PC if you want
This seems like the beggining, i'm exited.

It’s either hot or raining in #Melbourne, so I’m hacking up an old system to compile #X86 #software to see how it performs on #ARM hardware using Valves #FEX.
Here I’m adding a 3 1/2” FDD to a machine that uses a CDRom player as first boot, then HDD. All 3 HDDs are cactus so I’ll attempt to reformat before finding an alternative.
