@stang2k Ich habe hier seit ein paar Jahren 3 #UniFi-#Accesspoints in Betrieb und seit dem keine Probleme mehr gehabt. Zum aktuellen Produktsortiment kann ich aber wenig sagen.

Man braucht zwingend einen Controller zum Konfigurieren, die haben kein WebUI wie andere AP. Dafür tuts aber auch ein Software-Controller auf einem PC, der muss nicht die ganze Zeit mitlaufen (nur für Firmware-Updates und Konfig-Anpassungen).

Jeden Tag, wenn der Mitarbeiter zum Feierabend das Licht aus macht, zieht er auch den Dreierstecker an dem der Router fürs Routing nach draussen dran hängt.

Dann macht doch die 50 #accessPoints auch aus. Das täte dem Klima gut und würde die Verwirrung bei den Reisenden nicht noch verstärken.

@jason Personally, I use #PoE all the time since it's absolutely convenient for stuff like #AccessPoints and #VoIP phones.

Heck, there are even passive #PoE splitters that allow one to get a @Raspberry_Pi / #RaspberryPi hooked onto Ethernet and powered via it, reducing parts...

Which is quite nifty if one wants to setup some smol #Pi0 as a gadget and wants it to just work when plugged in...

@br00t4c I'd recommend to stick with #Ubiquiti #AccessPoints and use a different #Router entirely.

Espechally if one's not living in a single-level building with finger-thin drywalls.

Heute war ich bei dem Bekannten, dessen "Admin" sich in die Heimat abgesetzt hat. Wie ich feststellte, hat er sämtliche Zugangsdaten mitgenommen, nur die vom DSL hatte er. Also heute eine neue #FRITZ!Box installiert, #AVM-Repeater, #ubiquiti #Accesspoints und 5 Kameras resettet.

Bei der #DeutscheBahn ist wieder der Wurm drin.
Alle #Accesspoints sind verfügbar, aber nach der Verbindung ist das Backend weg.
Da hat wieder irgendwer den Stecker an Router gezogen. 😩

Since the two #Ubiquiti #UniFi #AccessPoints disconnected again, I tried more stuff.

- unplugged the APs
- tested and verified cables and switch settings
- changed another device on our home network so that 192.168.1.20 (#UAP default IP) was no longer in use
- bound proxy in front of #UniFiController container to an IP address and route
- ran “set-inform” twice with known good controller address, as apparently two inform addresses are stored by each AP.

I’m hoping I’ve finally fixed the drop-outs affecting two of my #Ubiquiti #Unifi #AccessPoints. After looking at the logs on the APs, I saw the “inform” URL was getting reset. I couldn’t find any reason for that … but the logs showed one of the changes was to the IP of my main desktop computer. I realized I’d temporarily installed the Unifi app on it, even though I normally use a Unifi controller VM or container. I stopped and removed the desktop controller app, and things are going well so far.

Had to downgrade my #ubiquiti #accesspoints going bonkers contacting ui crash services literally every second which I've saw in #pihole. Note to self: no pre-releases anymore.

Settings -> System -> Override Inform Host -> IP address of your unifi-controller
