SMPD is actively managing an ongoing incident following a shooting near Santa Monica Place mall. The mall has been cleared and any directions to shelter in place have been lifted throughout the downtown Santa Monica area. The suspect remains at large, and a coordinated search is underway. Continue to expect road closures and heavy police presence.
Update: "According to the Fort Cavazos Directorate of Emergency Services, authorities are responding to an incident at BLORA and are asking the public to avoid the area until further notice.
Fort Cavazos Garrison Command Public Affairs officials later confirmed there was never an active shooter and no lockdown was issued on Saturday night. However, there was an incident at BLORA involving two individuals that is currently under investigation."
