I just read an unconfirmed report from someone working the fire by Shuswap Lake that the fire was SILENT. That means that there is no longer any trace of moisture in the grass and foliage. This is a very bad sign.

I’m about 45km as the crow flies and this the view of the sky we are getting right now. Ash is falling from the sky like snow.
