What I’ve learned as a #disabledperson who works with other folks with #mobility #disabilities is that #inclusion is about far more than just #accessibility of equipment. It’s also about equity of access to resources, services & infrastructure required to use it. How #inclusive are we really being if it’s out of reach to all but a tiny % of the #marginalized group? #equity #disability #aMTB #AdaptiveRecreation

/2.5 *DYK since the late 2010s when greyhound pulled out of Canada, there’s no more #WheelchairAccessible #transportation between Vancouver and Whistler BC? My work does an #AdaptiveRecreation camp in Whistler every year with one of the only organizations offering #aMTB guided rides in the province, and the one barrier we struggle the most with is finding transportation for participants who need it. Don’t even get me started on the cost of #AccessibleVehicles these days.
