Alea the Black Cat: *enters a sea of blue and gold nattochdag flowers* *

Me: Oooooooh! I need to capture this!

Camera: How about I register the green grass with some insignificant purple dotts?

Every. Single. Time.

(*These are rare globally but grows en masse around here. The flowers are named after their purple top and their yellow flowers; NattOchDag means 'night and day'.)

Today was the first day I slathered myself in Djungelolja (mosquito repellent) to follow Alea the Black Cat on the esker. Vile stuff, makes you stink like you've had a spa day at a shellack factory, and makes you loopy if you apply it wrong. But prefer that to being hunted by the world's beigest vampires.

And yes, this _is_ the esker - a part where the soil hasn't been washed away. If you look closely you can see the cat :D

The morning sun sending warm rays through a thick layer of leaves, and over a lush undergrowth of raspberry bramble. In the middle of the picture a tiny black cat is walking towards the light.

We lucked out when it comes to mosquitoes - the esker is still free of them, and it's The Best Place for a sand bath. But for some reason Alea the Black Cat deemed it unsafe today. There were a lot of sniffing the air, walking two meters, miaowing, turning around, returning, hesitating, sniffing the air, walking two meters etc. Might have been the wind, but could be anything from foxes to quads. We returned before I got to know.

Alea the Black Cat peaking into the forest from a comfy sand pit. Her fur is full of pine needles and she looks like she's just heard something suspect.
