Two Is One is an album by American saxophonist Charles Rouse recorded in 1974 and released on the Strata-East label.
The authors of The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings called the music "pretty startling," and commented: "It's a difficult performance to locate within Rouse's overall output, but there is no denying its effectiveness."
A writer for Billboard remarked: "this is an appreciated release and shows another side of Rouse, as it presents him in a funky feeling."
Guitarist Jeff Parker wrote: "This album introduced me to Strata-East Records, and I've been... following the label and collecting the records ever since." - Wikipedia

...Where Would I Be? is an album by guitarist Jim Hall which was recorded in 1971 and first released on the Milestone label.
AllMusic awarded the album 3 stars and its review by Scott Yanow states "Although the rhythm section was more "modern" than he usually used (keyboardist Benny Aronov, bassist Malcolm Cecil, and Airto Moreira on drums and percussion), guitarist Jim Hall (who always had a harmonically advanced style anyway) has little difficulty adapting to the fresh setting" - Wikipedia

Ivo by Ivo Perelman from 1989 his debut LP.
Review by Scott Yanow
For his recording debut, Ivo Perelman performs seven folk melodies, five of which are traditional Brazilian children's songs. A powerful tenor player whose style and sound at times recalls Albert Ayler (without the vibrato), Gato Barbieri, and Clifford Jordan, Perelman uses the simple melodies as points of departure and places to land after his intense and fairly free but melodic improvisations. The first three songs co-feature vocalist Flora Purim, who is at the top of her game on the haunting "Nesta Rua" and the lighthearted but explorative "O Cravo e a Rosa." Two of the other pieces have Perelman dueting with pianist Eliane Elias. The two bassists, John Patitucci and Buell Neidlinger, work together quite well. Don Preston takes a wild synthesizer solo on "O Cravo e a Rosa," and both drummer Peter Erskine and percussionist Airto are colorful in support...

New #review today: "Drums of Compassion represents a summing-up of sorts for #MichaelShrieve, presenting the veteran drummer along with a host of the other outstanding musicians he’s worked with since his debut in Santana. It is far from a showcase for his own playing, however, handing the spotlight over to #AirtoMoreira, #ZakirHussain, #JeffGreinke, #JackDeJohnette, #BabatundeOlatunji, #Skerik, #PeteLockett, #AmonTobin, #TreyGunn, and many others." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/michael-shrieve-drums-of-compassion-2.html
