J'aime bien cette photo.
Je l'aime parce qu'elle est vivante et que pour moi elle représente bien mieux le côté mignon (et un peu pataud) de l'oiseau star des photographes que les clichés où il est posé tel un observateur pensif dans la sauvagerie du monde qui file comme la rivière ou stagne comme le marais (ouais je suis un poète...)
Je l'aime aussi parce que dans l'univers élitiste de la photo ornitho, cette photo n'est pas convenue, n'est pas normée et beaucoup la voient probablement comme un raté alors que je l'ai soigneusement choisie au milieu d'une rafale.
Je l'aime enfin parce que c'est un popotin de martin-pêcheur et que c'est trop mignon.

Un martin-pêcheur (petit oiseau trapu au long bec comme un poignard) qui décolle d'une grosse branche morte qui lui servait de perchoir. Il s'éloigne de l'objectif et montre l'interieur de ses ailes, le bas de son ventre et surtout son croupion qui sont tous oranges. Le bout de sa queue, une partie de son dos et l'arrière de sa tête sont visibles on discerne des tâches claires dans le bleu électrique.

There’s a kingfisher sitting on a branch. He’s surrounded by psychedelic patterns like circles and tubes and tiny cells. It’s 3 dimensional.

My second encounter with a Stork-billed Kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis), this time just a few metres away on a railing at the Pandan River, Singapore. Spotted on 25 April 2019.

The Stork-billed Kingfisher is not as common here compared to other kingfishers.

Happy. My first sighting of the Stork-billed Kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis). I've only recorded sightings of the Collared and White-throated Kingfishers up to now, so to see a different kind of Kingfisher is exciting.

Spotted at Pasir Ris Park, Singapore, on 31 March 2019.

Listed as an Uncommon resident.
