You’ll notice he has lots of fur loss & scabbing to his ears & his snout.
He was a rescue alpaca that had had an insect infestation & adverse reaction to it when we got him.
My better half rubbed zinc cream on him for weeks & he eventually grew into the weirdo we now know & love.

Wieder mal ein Schnappschuss
Einige Male schon habe ich von „unseren“ Alpacas – den Alpacas, die in unserer Nachbarschaft leben – geschrieben. Sie sind aber auch gar zu putzig mit ihren strubbeligen Fell-Frisuren und den schiefen Zahnstellungen.
Das eine oder andere Alpaca ist zudem auch sehr neugierig: Auch am Samstag, als ich einfach wieder mal eine Foto schiessen wollte, konnte ich mich kaum vor dem Ansturm von Finnli retten.
So gibt es halt – analog dem immer mal wieder auftauchenden „Cat-Content“ mit Katzen-Fotos und -Filmen – mal „Alpaca-Content“ …

My other purchase is a bag of naturally dark black alpaca roving.
I've been wanting to try blending the husky fur with something a bit longer and more likely to hold together. I'm going to play around with proportions, but I think this would look really sharp as a dark core of black alpaca surrounded by a fuzzy white husky halo.
Of course I'll post photos when I get to this project!

I just returned from feeding the #MudBrothers & the #lambs.
As I came through the gate they rushed towards me - normal.
Ozzie (the older, white #alpaca) then spotted I had a bucket of crushed lupins on me.
He reared up on his hind legs & then head butted my shoulder! Not normal.
I’m not that stable on my legs at the best of times & his head butt sent me into the fence.
