Notes are different than plans. I have notes on what I've established to be true, as part of the writing process, and then I have plans for what I'm going to do past the edge of what I've written. And no, I don't follow them closely at all. :)

No, I don't generally. But I am aware that a writer's style can sneak into my consciousness, so I stay aware of their prose, they're voice, etc. I need to be conscious of these things in order to use them to maximum effect.
