I tend to start the same and then it varies. I start with a simple little template I made for 3 act structure stories. I drop in what I think are the main beats.
Then I moved to a more detailed outline(ish) of the three acts.
Sometimes from there I’ll dig deeper and break the acts into beats. Sometimes I just dive in from here and see where the story takes me.

Nach fast zwei Wochen Pause das Manuskript wieder öffnen fühlt sich auch irgendwie seltsam an.
Die Pause entstand, weil ich nicht in Stimmung und emotional deutlich zu erschöpft war, allerdings ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich die Szenenlängen womöglich anpassen muss, was bedeutet, dass ich jetzt nicht weiterschreibe, sondern die jeweiligen Kapitel nochmal von Anfang an durchgehe, um zu schauen, ob hier und da nicht doch etwas ausführlicher werden sollte, damit es runder wird.

Coming along. I had to split a book for length, so I have a decent rough draft already. Have to rejigger a few scenes and add some polish. The beginning would be trickier but luckily, there's a perfect opportunity for a recap... 😌
Main thing is, I'm committed to getting it out by the end of the year.
