Dafür brauchen sie kein kompliziertes Narrativ; es genügt, die Angst vor einem Atomkrieg zu schüren und ein paar Slogans zu präsentieren: „Gut gegen Böse“, „Kampf gegen den Terrorismus“. Die Medien und sozialen Netzwerke, die von denselben Interessen kontrolliert werden, reproduzieren diese Ideologie und zensieren abweichende Meinungen.

Nachdem sie dem Marionettenstaat Israel unbegrenzte Angriffe auf iranisches Territorium gestattet hatten, griffen die USA nun in den Konflikt ein. Damit erfüllt sich eine jahrzehntelange Obsession vieler Mitglieder der herrschenden Elite der USA: der Wunsch, das iranische Regime zu stürzen. Diese Obsession rührt von der strategischen Niederlage der USA im Jahr 1980 her, als ihre auserwählte Marionette während der iranischen Revolution gestürzt wurde. Doch noch wichtiger ist, dass sie von den neuen imperialistischen Strategien angetrieben wird, die die USA voranzutreiben versuchen. Diese Angriffe auf den Iran – angeführt von Israel, den USA und der NATO – finden statt, während China als konsolidierte Macht und Russland, ein Staat, der ständig nach europäischem Machtstatus strebt, abwarten und ihre Karten in einem Szenario überbordender internationaler Spannungen und einer exponentiellen Verschärfung des Klassenkampfes ausspielen.

Vor den Augen der Weltöffentlichkeit wird das palästinensische Gebiet verwüstet und seine Bevölkerung ausgerottet. Ein belagertes Gebiet, eine Apartheid.

Nun wird der Iran angegriffen – ein Regime, das nicht wegen seiner Autokratie problematisch ist, sondern weil es keine imperialen Interessen verfolgt und zudem eine zentrale geopolitische Region im Nahen Osten darstellt. Der Iran verteidigt sich, doch seine Zivilbevölkerung wird massakriert.

Neue Kriegstechnologien breiten sich immer weiter aus, immer zum Nachteil der Bevölkerung. Drohnen und Raketen der neuen Generation schweben über der wehrlosen Bevölkerung, über Kindern und alten Menschen … Technologien, die so „präzise“ sind, dass sie nicht Terroristen, sondern täglich Tausende und Abertausende unschuldiger Opfer finden.

Wir müssen auch die Absurdität der Situation anmerken. Diejenigen, die gestern die Atombombe abgeworfen haben, sind heute die Hüter von „Frieden“ und „Demokratie“. Die vermeintliche Legitimität internationaler Institutionen wie der Vereinten Nationen bröckelt angesichts ihrer absoluten Unfähigkeit, in diese Konflikte einzugreifen.

Darüber hinaus dienen diese Institutionen nicht nur nicht der Verteidigung unterdrückter Völker, sondern legitimieren vielmehr diejenigen, die Krieg führen, wie die jüngste G7-Erklärung zeigt, in der Israels Angriffe auf den Iran als Selbstverteidigungsrecht bezeichnet werden. Anders ausgedrückt: Mit seinem Angriff auf den Iran macht sich Israel die Hände schmutzig gegen einen Staat, dessen nukleares Potenzial immer weiter zunimmt – was den Ländern des globalen Nordens gefällt, da es die bestehende hierarchische Struktur des internationalen Systems unberührt lässt.

Klar ist, dass dies die abscheulichste und grausamste Seite des Kapitalismus ist, eine neue historische Stufe der Artikulation, die die schlimmsten Erfahrungen des Lebens einfängt, sich aber manchmal im Namen von Demokratie und Freiheit zu maskieren versucht – während sie zu anderen Zeiten deutlicher die Fahne der weißen Vorherrschaft hochhält.

Wir stehen einem System des Todes gegenüber, wissen aber, dass es angesichts der Unterdrückung Widerstand gibt. Dass die Menschen leiden, aber auch aufstehen. Dass sich internationale Solidarität in Mobilisierungen in verschiedenen Teilen der Welt manifestiert und dass ein lauter Ruf nach einem Ende dieses Völkermords erschallt. Angesichts so viel Barbarei sind wir Anarchisten empört, solidarisch, aber wir schlagen auch vor, für eine neue Welt zu kämpfen.

International Statement: War Between States Means Death for the People

The following is a statement written and endorsed by members of the Latin American Anarchist Coordination (CALA) and sibling organizations across the Americas, including Black Rose/Rosa Negra.

Violence in the Middle East continues to grow exponentially. The war profiteers, the main partners of neoliberal capitalism, impose death on those below, while they become richer with the investments of their States. This action is actually a strategy of world domination, of appropriation of wealth and territories, of oil and gas… and a great windfall for the interests of the arms industry.

The United States, along with Israel – its partner in this onslaught – spread their ideology of arrogance, intimidation and violence. They don’t need a complicated narrative to spread it, it’s enough to stoke fears of nuclear war and to put forward a few slogans: “good against evil,” “the fight against terrorism.” The media and social networks, controlled by these same interests, reproduce this ideology and censor dissent.

After allowing the puppet state of Israel to carry out unlimited attacks on Iranian territory, the United States has now entered the conflict. This marks the realization of an obsession held for decades by many members of the U.S. ruling elite: the desire to overthrow the Iranian regime. This obsession stems from the strategic defeat the United States suffered in 1980, when its chosen puppet was overthrown during the Iranian revolution. But more significantly, it is driven by the new imperialist strategies the United States is trying to advance. These attacks on Iran—led by Israel, the United States, and NATO—are taking place while China, as a consolidated power, and Russia, a state constantly seeking European power status, wait and play their hand in a scenario of overflowing international tensions and an exponential increase in class struggle.

Before the world’s wide open blind eyes, the Palestinian territory is devastated and its population exterminated. A besieged area, an apartheid.

Now, Iran is being attacked, a regime that is troublesome not because it is autocratic but because it does not follow imperial interests, and because it is also a key geopolitical area in the Middle East. Iran defends itself but its civilian population is massacred.

New technologies of war proliferate, always to the detriment of the people. New generation drones and missiles that hover over the defenseless population, over children and the elderly… Technology so ‘precise’ that it does not find terrorists, but thousands and thousands of innocent victims every day.

We must also remark on the absurdity of the situation. Those who dropped the atomic bomb yesterday are the guardians of ‘peace’ and ‘democracy’ today. The presumed legitimacy of international institutions, such as the United Nations, breaks down as we observe their absolute inability to intervene in these conflicts.

Moreover, not only do these institutions not serve to defend oppressed peoples, instead they offer legitimacy to those who make war, as we have seen in the most recent G7 statement, which holds that Israel’s attacks on Iran are its right to self-defense. In other words, by attacking Iran, Israel is getting its hands dirty against a state that is advancing in nuclear capability, something that pleases the countries of the global north because it keeps the current hierarchical structure of the international system untouched.

What is clear is that this is the most vile and cruel face of capitalism, a new historical stage of articulation that captures the worst of lived experiences, but that tries to mask itself, sometimes, in the name of democracy and freedom–while at other times more plainly raising the banner of white supremacy.

We are facing a system of death, but we know that in the face of oppression there is resistance. That the people suffer, but also rise up. That international solidarity manifests itself in mobilizations in various parts of the world and that a clamor has arisen to stop this genocide. And that in the face of so much barbarism, we anarchists are outraged, we are in solidarity, but we also propose to fight for a new world.

National Guard Office Attacked – Bloomington, IN

The night before the “no kings” spectacle we smashed the windows of an Army National Guard recruiting office. It is easy and fun to attack, and usually accomplishes more than standing on a street corner.

US authorities built militias capable of quelling riots or breaking up strikes after the civil war. The state militias were reconstituted into the modern National Guard. Military training was imposed and matters of discipline rigidly enforced, including inspections by regular Army officers. In addition, more emphasis was placed on recruitment, and armories were built throughout the North.

The National Guard Association came into being in St. Louis, and between 1881 and 1892 every single state revised its military code to provide for an organized militia which most states called the National Guard.

The Indiana National Guard has actively been a part of policing the US border. It is always available to suppress liberatory revolt through violently firing indiscriminately into crowds, or dispersing crowds though theatrical/coercive threats of violence. We see their actions in LA today, and in historical massacres of striking workers and attacks on Katrina survivors. They were deployed during the George Floyd and Ferguson Uprisings. Of course in Ferguson it wasn’t the police or even the National Guard who succeeded in putting an end to the rioting, but professional activists.

It is important to remember that, in this cycle of social upheaval, riots can be experienced as celebration, as joyous and cathartic releases of emotion: police and politicians who enter riot zones often cite this atmosphere as the thing that terrifies them the most. But riots are also driven by anger and loss. They emerge as an alternative form of care and remembrance for those the state’s patriarchal violence has destroyed: rising up in mourning for lost children and in outrage at the domination of daily life. They can be ugly, bloody, and frightening. Riots are communicative, but unlike protest, they do not aim their speech at those in power, at leaders or the state; instead, they are a form of direct communication and knowledge transfer among those outside the traditional avenues of power.
