I lacked interest to go activate WWFF but wanted to do some outdoor activities so I built myself a linked dipole antenna for 40m, 30m, 20m and 15m.
It took me roughly 3 hours and LOTS of walking back and forth, some knee-soldering on grass and lots of trim cuts.
I made first contact with the antenna to WWFF ref, 5W on 40m SSB! Promising!

I bought a Chelegance MC-705. First tests at my backyard gave correct resonance at marked point.
Now I have been in to different WWFF refs and the marks are not even close. They seem to fall short a lot: so the antenna is tuned to higher frequency at the mark. All elements from thinnest to position are fully extended.
Why is that? I can understand that the antenna might be too long because of proximity of stuff, but why it is falling short?
Upgraded the #SDR #antenna footing this week. Put them higher last week and picking up a lot more and further out as is very noticeable in the graphs. Also using the smaller antenna catches a lot less noise so many more planes. Had a few positions picked up over 400KM away

I want to improve my setup to tune my magnetic loop antenna.
Currently I communicate with my SWR-meter and the antenna's capacitor via RS-232, which was fine for prototyping purposes but I want everything on one bus. Maybe something RS-485 based?

Cleaning up the wiring and checking antenna SWR with a NanoVNA.
Was curious if these cheap antennas were similar to their name brand look alikes. And no, no they are not comparable lol. Stick to the name brand I guess for this style of antennas, the cheaper ones are not worth it this time.
Any suggestions for building a 868 MHz ground plane antenna? Many years ago I built a 1/4 lambda antenna for the 4 meter band.
Now for Meshtastic I have to go smaller which means probably I could make a 5/8 lambda antenna. I think this would provide more gain, right?

I can't find for sale anywhere a 1:4 #balun for HF. It is for a low height 40m inverted V #NVIS #antenna. Military versions such as #AS-2259 use the custom coax support pole as an impedance transformer.
To be clear, I mean 12.5 ohm balanced antenna side to 50 ohm unbalanced coax side. The ones for sale on eBay/Amazon seem to be mislabeled 4:1 ones.
Making one isn't an option: my hands don't work properly.
Anyone any ideas.

With a piece of 75ohm coax stuffed into it.
