I originally reply guy'd this to someone earlier, but the primary reason I have avoided Anthrocon in my 25 years of being a babyfur is reading stories of babyfurs on IRC in the early days of getting their room party signs torn down by Uncle Kage. It did not seem to be a welcoming environment for us.

furry is extremely queer.

a fursuit parade at one of the biggest and well known furry conventions on the planet is going to have so many queer furries in it that any amount of suppressing expression that any reasonable proud queer person would be okay with for the purposes of being "family friendly" can't be separated from queerphobia.

I'm partially saying this in response to Anthrocon apparently disallowing any bare skin to be showing for fursuiters in their fursuit parade (which I think is shitty for a few other reasons as well), but still it's a much more broadly applicable point than just that.

suppressing furry expression is suppressing queer expression.
