So I just tried to watch a 2020 adaption of Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra on Tubi and it was shocking bad acting. like I've seen clips of A Midsummer night's Cream and even those Porn actors can perform Verse better.

Fortunately the Heston version is also Tubi, it's a great underrated movies, everyone should watch it.

Here's #MyShakespeareWinter part 35 of 37:

#AntonyAndCleopatra is romantic melodrama on a global scale...the Roman leader and the Queen of Egypt are hedonistic, passionate for each other, even in death...proof that messy love is more inspiring than the cold sober might of Caesar

All the best & a happy birthday to #TimMcMullan!

I had the privilege of hearing him talk about his work as Enobarbus in NT's #AntonyAndCleopatra Nov 2018, and then have a chat after the event and the following 2 days outside the stage door, his being very lovely in general.

I'd written something beforehand & gave him a painting I'd made of him as a gesture of appreciation, so I suppose I was memorable as well. Got thanked with a kiss on the cheek, too, bless, and a later letter reply back.

A chubby or round faced Caucasian woman with relatively light brown hair 'flowing' down around her face, next to a bit older man with a more rectangular face shape + short dark hair, curly at the top.

Yer Elysia gal here next to Tim McMullan, E. doing her usual "Elysia smiles" with closed mouths tho warm enough or whatever, while Tim smiles with some teeth showing, too.

The person who took the pic was much shorter than us, so the "From below" angle isn't necessarily the hottest to speak of. We also look quite reddish in tone given the lighting or something.A delightfully yin & yang image of me + Tim posing to someone else taking a pic, closer in height to our 5'10-5'11-ish or so.

I'm on the left against a black background + he a light beige one, which as if echoes in my light brown hair + the light glow in my hair.

I'm wearing a V-cut dark green shirt under the old, faded purple pinstripe jacket, which in turn gets echoed in Tim's violet colour shirt. His darker hair + eyebrows or colouring contrasts against the light background while I'm more of a light figure against the dark background, the way we stand almost exactly where the wall colour change happens behind us.

A big, busty, possibly chonkier me + a leaner guy next to me leaning toward me, smiling at the camera.Tim as Enobarbus in the National Theatre production of Antony & Cleopatra. Early on Egyptian scenes, before his "Give the gods a thankful sacrifice" line.

He's wearing light coloured trousers + a colourful, lushly patterned, maybe silk shirt that is open apart from the bottom 2 buttons. He has 2 necklaces we don't fully see, because he has his right hand up to his heart here, also covering them.

He's sitting with his feet in the small paddling pool style feature they had on stage, lushly decorated with some turquoise stones or tiles as a look, everything in the Egyptian setting being vibrant.

I saw the play twice + had the privilege of catching most of it in a cinema after, not all NT productions being shown in a town nearby. During the UK lockdowns I got to see the play online again + screen-cap a little.

I finally finished my paper yesterday. It went decently, but writing this paper did cement #AntonyAndCleopatra as my favorite #Shakespeare play. Triangulations everywhere! Also, Caesar and Cleopatra are so shady!

And I used lyrics from #Bickenhead for the title tbh. ✨✨✨ #CardiB

@withryn @YusufToropov okay so listen... #KingLear would be amazing and I would definitely buy if you did it. But have you considered #AntonyAndCleopatra ...just throwing that out there?? 🤔😂

Either way, I’m excited for your comic version of Macbeth. Me and some of my irl Shakespeare nerd friends are patiently waiting for July to come. Haha.
