"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" has a small collection of somewhat anachronistic appearances. There is a brief glimpse of an Apple IIe and a Commodore PET 2001 appears in the background. Rather strangely for a film set in the USA, there is a fairly important role for an Acorn BBC Micro.

There is an Apple IIe in the fire-house by the ghost containment unit.

Dr Veckman has a Commodore Pet in his office.

Dr Pinfield uses a BBC Micro to control the equipment that extracts ghosts from haunted objects.

"Dialed" into the Mac Studio wirelessly across the room for some IRCing on old hardware, here as the snow falls. ❄️

I had to modify the plist and shell config scripts I'd setup on the Mac since "upgrading" to macOS 26 Tahoe to get this working without gripes in the terminal.

Apple IIe setup acting as a remote terminal to a Mac Studio elsewhere in the room

After some wild mathematical hat rendering yesterday, kicked off by @scruss and @paulrickards, I've got John Brooks' ridiculously optimized 10 line Applesoft BASIC program running on the IIe.

(Time-lapse video; the hat takes about 9 minutes to render on the 1MHz IIe.)

The original source of the image, used as stock art in quite a number of places, a photograph of a museum display taken by Théodore Poncet, is misleadingly labelled "a laptop on a table". M. Poncet's LinkedIn history says that in 2022 when xe took the photograph xe was working as a developer for Apple.

Completed reverse engineered Ninth Wave 512k memory expansion card for the Apple IIe.

I'm still not sure what the SEGA/SEGB/VC/GR logic is for, and why it's only present for bank 3 and not bank 0.
