Another observation, about the new #Post16 #Skills #WhitePaper is that we're at the point in the cycle where it's deemed appropriate to make statements like:
"We will also seek employers’ views about whether the academic system is giving graduates the skills and knowledge they need for the workplace"
As if #apprenticeship trailblazers never took place or that #universities are somehow disinterested in securing fruitful outcomes for their learners.

Feeling a little deflated after my first meeting with my apprenticeship mentor who was aghast I wasn't in a developer role.
"You're meant to be in a developer role tondo this course. How else will you hit all the required criteria?"
I had raised this in the past, but was told of would be fine. My manager is going to try to negotiate a way for me to do it with out Dev Team, but I won't hold my breath... ☹️

Spent some time today going through the Spacemacs documentation. My hand made config wasn't getting anywhere and kept throwing up errors, so I think (at least for now), I'll run a spacemacs config, it has most of the features I want.
I *need* to get it sorted by next week, when I'll finally be given the green flag on my apprenticeship. I'll be using orgmode to make notes and (I hope) as IDE for my chosen language.
