Screaming deals on #Aranet environmental monitors right now. I have the Aranet4 Home and am thinking about grabbing another. Consistent, fast results, good logging, not-terrible app, and I can pull logs from my Debian box via Bluetooth for further analysis.
Einbindung in #HomeAssistant via #BLE völlig aufwandsfrei. #Covid19
Interesting writeup of some data so far from the indoor-CO2-map project!

The project has smartphone apps, so that anyone with a linkable CO2 monitor can contribute your own measurements.

Installed the diy heat recovery ventilator unit in the window next to dining table where it will pull used air outside and exchange fresh air that’s warmed as it passes by.
I will do more insulation and an interior plastic film storm soon.
It is completely quiet. Another tool in my #CleanAir winter gatherings system.
20 adults in one classroom from 18:30 to 19:30. Someone left half-way through the parent-teacher conference, so that's the little dip in the middle. The air purifier (the height and width of one grown-up, with the depth of a fridge) stood in the back of the room and was switched off.
One person was coughing.
One person was wearing a respirator. It was not the coughing person.

How I use an Aranet carbon dioxide monitor to reduce risk of catching #COVID and other airborne illnesses: https://www.harihareswara.net/posts/2023/my-current-covid-risk-approach/#ventilation
This restaurant in Hamburg has a balcony on which you can also enjoy your tasting menu. However, according to my Aranet, the CO2 never went above 720ppm though the place was packed.

(my point is: rich people have well-ventilated spaces... I want this kind of clean air in classrooms and on busses.)
Heute im H&M und im C&A gewesen. Beide hatten CO2 bei unter 700ppm.
Davor waren wir kurz in einem Nagelstudio und danach im Supermarkt.

CO2 level audit. 1892 in the United 757, 2080 in Embraer 175, 590 at Charlottesville, 772 at LAX. Around 750 at ORD, similar at IAD. Airports apparently got the message on ventilation. #airquality #aranet #aviation
@EmbodiedEthics This app is fantastic. Very easy to use. I don't go into indoor public spaces often, but when I do, I always try to bring my Aranet CO2 monitor and submit a reading. It's been great seeing more U.S. measurements on the map but we still need a lot more users to catch up with Germany! 😁
Another issue here with smoke in the area and poor #AQI is the trade-off we have to make with #iAQ. For unknown reasons, this house simply likes to keep high CO2 levels.
I generally keep 2 windows open on opposite sides of the house regardless of the weather, but we've not been doing that with the #Wildfires
So one day recently we left for 3 hours, came home and found the #Aranet had recorded this CO2 reading.
No heat running. No one home, exhaling. Gas fireplace turned completely off. Windows closed.
What a tradeoff.
Last night I went to an event at the venue where my local Queer Club takes place. I took CO2 readings with my #Aranet, did some estimates of the room volume, and measured the flow rate of the filter box they have there.
In terms of raw CO2 numbers (which ignore air filtration) and Air Changes Per Hour (which ignore room occupancy) the numbers were pretty dismal.
But I got enough data to try modelling the room using co2room, a Python script I wrote.
I worked out the natural ventilation rate of the building by tweaking until the resultant curve fit the readings from the Aranet.
At 40 people last night, the "effective CO2 rate" (i.e. the CO2 readings you'd get if you were ventilating rather than filtering) topped out around 1000ppm, which is above my risk threshold.
However, at my Queer Club event which has only about 20 people, even though it runs for longer it tops out at about 500ppm.
Y'a des grosses promos sur les capteurs de CO2 et autres #Aranet, si vous envisagiez de vous en procurer un c'est peut-être le moment : https://aranet.com/en/home/products
This doesn't look good. I mean, a reduction in atmospheric CO2 might be nice (perhaps not this much of a reduction), but my device displaying 255 ppm CO2 immediately after calibration probably just means that it's faulty.
After I took it indoors the display rise above 300 for a few minutes and then it started displaying error 0x8002.
Anyone out there seen this fault before?

Twenty-sided Tavern, a very fun improv DnD show at the Sydney Opera House Studio.
For the venue itself, CO2 was not great, not the most terrible. The rowdy show meant more audience exhalations than a normal play or musical. It's also smaller than the usual places with better quality.
