I installed professional audio package in #archlinux and I feel it working better than a fresh UbuntuStudio.
Of course it could be a noob thing, I'm just a new #linuxmusician , but if you are wondering, I invite you to check out how easy is to make Arch ready for a hobbyist musician.

Finally successfully installed dual boot on my laptop. I’ve tried #linuxmint on my other laptop so I chose #archlinux this time. Didn’t work it out on the first try but I’m satisfied with what it is now.

Este comando se encuentra disponible en el paquete v4l-utils, disponible en los repositorios oficiales.

So for years I've had this weird issue where if I start playback of any sound source, pause it for more than a few seconds and start again, I don't get any sound for the first second or two.
Turns out it's just the ubiquitous "soundcard being suspended when inactive" issue. Adding the config file from

immediately fixed the issue.
Super happy right now. I am again one step closer to the perfect Linux install. Soon I will be unstoppable!

I've been looking into #nixos to automate my homelab and pc setups, but damn that's a deep rabbit hole. I think that I'm gonna set up my #archlinux install first, with my dotfiles. After that I'm going to dive deep into the #nix rabbit hole using virtual machines.
#Windows10 is coming to an end. I won’t use #Windows11 or other #Microsoft products anymore. I really like #Linux (especially #ArchLinux). I don’t want to be told how or when to use my own #computer. I won’t accept #datacollection, forced accounts, or #cloud-only services. In the future, I’ll play all my #games on Linux too.

Finally made the switch to Hyprland.
Tinkered the entire day to make it work like Awesome WM. Now I'm one of the cool kids again. No longer an old fart with xorg.

@isotopp @yunohost Wow, I'd heard the name yunohost before but didn't really realise what it was. I'm running a selfhosted server with #Archlinux on a #Pi atm, but keeping it up to date is a bit of a struggle as I have to re-learn how it works every time. Something like this would help with that.
I do use now-dns.com to create a static url for it, would that still work with #yunohost ?
There's a lot of things #ArchLinux gets right, but a friendly configuration of #bluetooth is not one of them.
I did invest a lot of time connecting an USB speaker (#SoundCore2) , and an equal amount of time enabling the computer to send the sound through them. Why 2 steps? I'm afraid I can't answer that in a single post.
It's probably relevant to mention I've working (professionally) with #linux machines for about 20+ years now.

On another note, I finally gave a try to #hyprland and wow, I am blown away
Configuration is painless compared to what #i3 or #sway were, and the possibility to change between layout in a single shortcut is what I had been looking for years at this point
It makes me want to get back into the #ricing rabbithole for a week or two...
