La voie des voix de femmes
A l'origine de ce projet, le désir de découvrir et faire découvrir des femmes engagées dans leur pays pour la défense des droits humains et environnementaux. Des femmes dont la voix est puissante et souvent mal connue.
A l'origine donc, la volonté de Bénédicte Brunet, plasticienne, de réaliser une série de portraits sur cartes routières de ces femmes, pour faire résonner leurs voix et relier leurs voies respectives.
Faire entendre ces voix de femmes au moment même où les Talibans interdisent aux femmes de parler en public en Afghanistan! Faire vibrer ces cordes...
Et lorsque Daniel Rousseau, musicien, dit "Et tu ne veux pas les mettre en voix?" ... L'évidence s'impose et nous nous lançons tous deux dans un projet de parcours d'exposition visuel et sonore pour faire entendre ces voix de femmes.
Se pencher sur le sujet des voix des femmes... c'est découvrir un nouveau continent. Sur ce chemin, la réflexion menée par la coach vocale et ancienne chanteuse lyrique @alinejalliet (cf. son ouvrage Une voix à soi. Pourquoi n'entend-t-on pas la voix des femmes?) a été une révélation, une mine d'informations sur le processus de disqualification de la voix des femmes et nous lui devons beaucoup dans la construction en cours.
Ce compte tenu en tandem a donc pour objet de présenter notre cheminement de réflexion et de création pour faire entendre les voix de femmes engagées dans le monde à travers un parcours visuel et sonore que nous présenterons en 2025.

Invisible Jumpers

Photographer Joseph Ford and knitter Nina Dodd have for the last several years worked on their collaborative project called Invisible Jumpers, in which Dodd would knit a garment that blends in with a chosen environment and then Ford would photograph the wearer. The book was published in 2019 ... but the project continues adding animals, arists, musicians to the project. As Ford explains:

"The locations have to be eye-catching but simple enough to be able to be knitted. They also have to be places that aren’t going to change too fast, as the knitting takes a few weeks...

Once I’ve found the location, I photograph someone standing where I would like the model to be in the final picture. I draw over this scouting photograph and annotate the picture with different colors and patterns so Nina can plan how to knit. Often there are 10 or 12 different shades of yarn in a single picture, and up to 24 balls of wool at any one time for the more complicated designs. The choice of yarn has varied according to the background."

After winning the #TEDPrize on March 2, 2011, the French #artist JR launched the #InsideOutProject, in his first #TEDTalk. Using his own #artistic practice as inspiration, this participatory platform helps individuals and communities to make a statement by displaying large-scale black and white #portraits in public spaces. Through their “Actions,” communities around the world have sparked #collaborations and conversations.

Over the past decade, more than 500,000 people spanning across 152 countries and territories have participated in the Inside Out Project. Thanks to participants' donations, the project has reached all the continents, with over 2,500 actions created. Actions have revolved around a range of topics: #diversity, #community, #feminism, #racism, #ClimateChange, #education, #ChildrensRights, and #art are just a few of them. Posters are displayed in outdoor spaces that are visible to the public. These #GroupAction #ArtInstallations are documented and shared online.

Tanya Bub is an #EcoArtist who creates #sculptures of animals and people from #FoundWood and #RecycledMaterials. A signature feature of her work is making inanimate objects appear to be so alive that is it almost impossible to resist the feeling that there is a living being present.

This piece of art is called, Sitting With Grace - created in 2023.
