Transplanted some of my #BokChoy & purple #tomatillo plants into larger pots. These starters are all being picked up this weekend by a few of my regular plant buyers here. There's some folks who get plants from me, every year 👩‍🌾

Split-screen composition:
Left frame, close-up of bok choy plants in black pots, foregrounded by an out-of-focus thumb giving a thumbs-up gesture.
Right frame, organized group of tomatillo starter plants also in black pots, arranged in a black tray, under open sunlight.

Both shots feature strong contrast of plants against dark soil and pots, with backgrounds of textured concrete and cracked light surfaces.

Our house smells so yummy right now. Wonton is being cooked at the moment. The crispy chow mein is done & set aside with the vegetables.
We made two of my nephew's fave foods for his 2nd birthday gathering here. He will be coming over in just over an hour 💗

#PakChoi #plants in 3 gallon pots.
“Pak Choi” translates to “white vegetable” in Cantonese due to their white stems. Cultivation began in the #YangtzeRiver Delta region & spread to other parts of Asia, thanks to traders & migrating populations.

Pak choi looks almost identical to bok choy but they're two different plants. Pak choi has darker leaves as it matures. Pak choi stems are white, more visibly so when matured. Bok choy stems are pale green. Pak choi has more of a peppery undertone taste, while bok choy has subtle sweetness. We grow both of these similar plants in our backyard food gardens.

I have 3 blueberry plants & only one has produced berries so far.

My spinach photo is from May 17–I wish now I had taken one today, because the three plants completely filled the pocket.

So…I harvested 3 spinach plants from my GreenStalk and steamed them for dinner! I added in a leaf each of Komatsuna, chijimisai, and summer mizuna, then three little sprigs of marjoram. The plant in the back of the pocket was starting to bolt, so I only took its smallest leaves.

Small spinach plants in the “pocket” of a larger container made of beige plastic. There’s a white plastic marker that says “Bloomsdale Spinach 3 - 4/15.” (3 is number of seeds, 4/15 is the date.)

Two Chinese golden cabbages (seed from Baker Creek). Both planted on 4/16, but the larger one has been up and growing for weeks, while the smaller one definitely was not visible yesterday (unless as one of the tiny specks where I am waiting for them to be recognizable as a weed or non-weed). Did I plant it deeper? Or was there just variation in germination time? Either way, I have accidentally achieved a staggered planting. I was about to reseed. #gardening #cabbage #AsianGreens

A small but apparently healthy little cabbage with two seed leaves and two true leaves. The true leaves have a slight yellow cast. The background is brown soil with a few small brown wood chips.A much smaller cabbage sprout that, though it only has seed leaves, definitely is a brassica. It has green leaves against a brown background of soil.
