When I wrote "Going Nowhere Fast" (GNF) many years ago, I also wrote a companion "Car #Setup Guide" (CSG), as a quick reference on how to set up the #raceCar in the pits and how to adapt one's driving technique to rein in a recalcitrant car once out of the pits. Of course, to read CSG, one must already know race car dynamics, suspension geometry, engine power curves, drive train design, etc., which was the purpose of a complete reference like GNF. My favourite #motorsports #simulator, #AssettoCorsa, now has a #rally version, and it is maddeningly real.

Turns out the server binary just consumes ini files, and works surprisingly well in WINE.
soo, got the .ini generator working, got some simple async logic to start / stop the server, and a super simple api to do all of that.

so I'm joining a #simracing league in #AssettoCorsa Competizione (ACC)
I have a G27 racing wheel which does a great job in Assetto Corsa 1 and Rfactor 2 providing detailed force feedback (FFB) that allows me to play with the limits of the virtual car in detail
However, ACC's FFB I'm finding has a lot less detail with my wheel, frankly I can't tell what the front tires on doing, which is surprising because AC1's FFB is great out of the box
