Trying this composition again with just Daniel Smith Cascade Green. This one feels better proportionally! The colors blooming and splitting are stunning!

This is a Reflective Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in landscape orientation in an A5 sketchbook. The rectangular boundaries and smaller sized evergreen trees give a panoramic feel. The largest tree (and its reflection) is 1/3 of the total height of the painting. I used Daniel Smith Cascade Green for this experimental piece for its granulation and color splitting; it's made with raw sienna and phthalocyanine blue. With masstone of a dark yellow green at the tree line, some of the medium values are also yellow green with a distinct blue edge. Elsewhere medium and light values of raw sienna are visible. The lightest value is minty green. The trees are tallest in the center and shortest on the sides. The overall feeling is the mistiness in the early morning.

This is a Reflective Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape in landscape orientation in a rectangular composition. Using Daniel Smith Bloodstone Genuine and Rose of Ultramarine. Masstone is focused along the tree line which is then diluted above and below the tree line in to bursts of medium values which is then pulled out further to light values. Bloodstone Genuine has gritty dark brown color and granulation which is quite evident in the lighter values. Rose of Ultramarine, a red purple, splits out into blue and pink in the more in the medium values. The evergreen trees span the distance with taller ones in the center and shorter towards the sides.

I used Daniel Smith Moonglow for this art piece because it is made up of three pigments: Veridian, Ultramarine Blue, and Anthraquinoid Red. In masstone the color is a dark smokey cool purple but when it is diluted the blue and red splits out. Along the tree line is Moonglow in masstone then it's diluted above and below the tree line getting bursts of dark and medium value smokey purple; those are diluted further into lighter values and this where the pigment splitting happens. The composition is a horizontally stretched triangle with taller trees on the left getting shorter moving to the right.

Isotope evidence shows steep decline in atmospheric mercury.

Using alpine plants as bio-monitors, researchers reconstructed four decades of atmospheric mercury on Mount Everest and found a ~70% drop since 2002.

Isotope models suggest direct human sources of mercury fell off sharply, while legacy emissions from soil and oceans have become more dominant, proportionally.

Along the curving horizon line are masstones of both colors that are them pushed with water above the horizon line where they bloom to medium values and then disperse upward creating the atmospheric affect. Grasses and added texture start at the horizon line and mark the terrain with dark, medium, and light values and granulation.

This is An Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in portrait orientation in an A5 sketchbook. Colors used are Daniel Smith Ultramarine Turquoise and Winsor and Newton French Ultramarine Blue. These colors are granulating and have explosive movement, which occurs at the curving horizon line. There are clear bursts of medium value blue and turquoise but also a mixture of the two. There colors are diluted to a light value in the atmosphere with grasses slicing through the medium value. At the horizon line there are dark values and more through out the landmass with some medium and light values and a few bits of unmarked white paper showing through. In the piece the colors are vibrant and create a sense of luminosity.
