When attempting to migrate from #Google #Authenticator to Aegis I tried to export the codes via a QR code that I saved. I didn't notice that I needed 6 codes and after the export it defaulted to remove the codes. That were not the QR codes but ALL #2FA codes from the app. 😭
The app says that codes are saved in my Google Account, but where? Who knows if I can get them back and how?

It seems this was released some time ago but I don't recall seeing any announcements at the time 😟

With a paid #PasswordManager like #Bitwarden you can have #MFA on shared accounts very easily.
Alternatively, you could set up #TOTP with the different #Authenticator apps on multiple devices, you just need to do it in the same time.
I am looking for a #foss or at least #eu or #efta based #2fa #authenticator app that is available for #ios to migrage away from the #techbro authenticator I am currently using. My first investigation brought up 2FAS. Is this a recommended piece of software? Any alternatives?

What does it mean? Users can now enroll passkeys in Microsoft Authenticator for their Microsoft Entra ID accounts in the default authentication methods setting. No need for key restrictions anymore!
Just had to help an old person with the authenticator app which Microsoft uses for Office365, needed every three months to reauthenticate his account.
Searching through his apps, there were three apps called "authenticator".
Looking in the Apple appstore, there are (a quick scroll down) more than 25 apps named "authenticator" or "authenticator app".
The name of the Google Authenticator app (that name is from the app store) and the name of the Microsoft Authenticator app (that name is also from the app store) on the iPhone home screen is for both "Authenticator".
This is not working for older people...

@Sixoctane щодо TOTP QR коду, в цьому коді і має бути присутній код на зразок IEHRST98VCXRIEHT98RAS. в QR коді він може бути представлений як параметра url з назвою secret. Не завжди в реалізації надають цeй код для ручного вводу. Microsoft дуже вміло приховує цей код за трьома кліками, інші взагалі можуть не надавати текстової версії і тут його можна просто відсканувати і самому його знайти, що вважаю вкрай не зручною процедурою. Так як цей код бажано зберігати в секретному записнику. Хоч я його використовую для ручного занесення в десктопну версію аутентифікатора (мені нею легше користиватись). Те саме що і треба для менеджера паролів які підтримують TOTP.
