Typically, #COTS are closed source products, so how do you get to #BYOS products that would eventually replace #COTS?

Is #COTS only for time being until your #BYOS is ready?

@Kode It depends! For my new law firm, I chose an off the shelf solution for timekeeping and invoicing (already available, known and affordable). Also, I will team up with experts to automate some processes and legal products. I plan to keep these secret initially (and use them only to service my clients more efficiently ). Then, if scalable, I will make them available to other law firms as well. For these, it is about innovation, proprietary rights and secrecy, so #BYOS is the way to go.

Was pondering on the question on when to use Commercial Off the Shelf(COTS) vs. build your own solution (BYOS)...seems there is no straightforward answer. Would like to get opinions on this topic!

Je recherche un système pour sauvegarder/synchroniser mes marque-pages. J'utilisais XMarks avec synchro sur mon serveur, mais le service va fermer…

Les besoins :
- intégration avec les marque-pages Firefox (super important)
- si possible compatible avec d'autres navigateurs
- installable sur mon serveur (pas de dépendances tierces)

Est-ce que ça existe ?
