The warm evening light made every detail sing - from the historic windmill and clock tower to the gentle tide rolling over the beach. Luckily we were based 5 minutes from the castle so were able to make an impromptu trip to catch the light.

Fassade einer bräunlichen Burg auf einem grün bewachsenen Hügel. Der linke Teil der Mauer geht direkt in den Felsen über.
an der Mauer entlang befinden sich mehrere Rundtürme und quadratische Türme unterschiedlicher Größe.
Von innen heraus ragt ein Burggebäude über die Mauern hinweg. Dieses hat an den Ecken jeweils turmartige Gebilde mit Zinnen. Auf dem Gebäude weht eine Fahne.
Der Himmel darüber ist größtenteils mit weißen Wolken bedeckt, es scheint jedoch auch einiges an Blau hindurch.

Bräunliches Torhaus der Burg.
In der Mitte befindet sich ein offenes Portal mit rundem Bogen. Links und rechts davon zwei turmartige Gebilde als Teil des Torhauses.
Über dem Portal befindet sich ein in die Mauer eingelassenes Wappen mit einem stilisiertem Löwen. Auf den Zinnen der Mauer und den turmartigen Gebilden befinden sich kleine, schwarze Statuen in unterschiedlichen Posen.
Ein halbrunder Bereich vor dem Torhaus ist gefplastert, der restliche Boden asphaltiert.
Links und rechts gehen ein schwarzer Zaun mit einer niedrigen Mauer als Basis ab.
Vor dem Zaun rechts stehen zwei rote Schilder mit unleserlischer weißer Schrift. Hinter dem Zaun sind zwei würfelförmig geschnittene Hecken.
Noch weiter hinten befindet sich die Mauer der Burg.
Der Himmel darüber ist größtenteils mit weißen Wolken bedeckt, es scheint jedoch auch einiges an Blau hindurch.

Ein aufwändig verziertes Tor aus schwarzem Eisen. Es ist in Form einer Rosenhecke gestaltet, das Eisen bildet dornige Ranken, Blätter und Blüten. Unten am Tor befinden sich andere Blumen in blau aus einem durchscheinenden Material.
Links und rechts vom Tor geht eine graue Steinmauer ab.
Hinter dem Tor ist ein Garten mit sehr viel grünen Pflanzen.

The Treehouse Restaurant is nestled in the treetops at Bamburgh Castle, we enjoyed a log fire surrounded by twinkling lights wist sitting on hand-crafted furniture.
The food was only ‘okay’ though, so for us likely only a one off visit.

Bamburgh Castle is an impressive structure with massive stone walls and towers. Its strategic position on a rocky outcrop makes it a formidable defensive site. Over the centuries, the castle underwent several expansions and renovations, reflecting different architectural styles from Norman to Victorian.
