what should I look at for #BandcampFriday ?
what should I look at for #BandcampFriday ?
You should take a look at https://bandcamp.com/'s home page right now to see the pace at which people are buying on a normal Friday to really appreciate how fast that moves on #BandcampFriday
Next Bandcamp Friday is Dec 5.
Been enjoying this one lately

Adding to my #SelinaMartin collection for #BandcampFriday
Something to file away for next #BandcampFriday is Los Cenzontles' first album, "Con Su Permiso, Señores", which is a really great album by a youth mariachi ensemble.
22 songs for $10! #Music

I recently discovered The Protomen, which is a rock opera inspired by video games. It feels like if Meatloaf got really into Bladeunner and FF7. You would be forgiven if you thought it was made in the 1980s. They recently released the 3rd act. The entire series would be a great #BandCampFriday purchase (Dec 5th).

You can listen to music on #Bandcamp all day without ever buying anything. If you download the app and set up an account (free), there’s a sort of general timeline like the public timeline on Mastodon, where they give daily recommendations from all genres. You can also set up your own sort of home timeline by following artists, other fan accounts, and every possible genre from jazz to experimental to spoken word. This timeline also gets recommendations and new activities all day. And you can look at other fan’s timelines and play their collections.
You can listen to any track and album three times without buying it. And I like to support and download the music I like there, because artists get more than 80% of my money, except on #BandcampFriday when they’ll get 💯% even. (the next will be Dec5)
Bought #music you can download as mp3, FLAC and other formats, and I like to download them into the app as well and listen offline. You can set up playlists and queues and there are other features I haven’t even explored yet.
I’m very happy with Bandcamp. I never felt the need to use any other platform.
Spent a good part of yesterday afternoon filtering my wishlist into the cart for #BandcampFriday then started to cull *that* to something reasonable before realizing this month wasn’t a BCF.
By that time I was already looking forward to hearing some of them, so culled that to “essentials” (2 EPs, 7 albums including 2 @nuthatch recommendations) and gave artists more+less money than waiting a month.

Hm, I never paid attention to #BandcampFriday #Bandcamp but the ones I've listen to the most often:
I've been listening to King Gizzard today. Their albums are pay-what-you-want and very good.
