Bruce, the local handyman bought a bit of scrubland up on the ridge to help his wife’s crook lungs, like the doc said. With a bit of help from the townsfolk, they knocked together a little shack over a few years. But the hard yakka did Bruce in — he carked it not long after. His missus, still on the mend, was left alone and jumpy, so she got a dog to keep watch.

"The dog barked at everyone who came within two hundred feet of her house, and as time went by, no one dared to go near it. For years the woman endured being on her own with the dog and without people, when suddenly, in a flash, she could no longer stand the situation and went out and bludgeoned the dog—who had served her so faithfully all the years—to death with a so-called Sappel, which loggers use for hauling logs, and threw herself on the mercy of her fellow human beings."

Sign from a #Gurdwara in #Barking East #London - this is to discourage folk from turning up for their #wedding on a #horse accompanied by #drums (the dhol) and #Bhangra #music like a scene from a #Bollywood movie, as doing so is not respectful in the gurdwara, and will also cause a general holdup and traffic hazard on the A124 Gurdwara Way which is a very busy main road.. #SikhCommunity #Desi #BritishAsian

Polite notice:

No Horses
No Dhol
No Bhangra
No Flames
No Smoking

DOGE Lincolnshire. It's exactly what it looks like. A replica of the U.S. DOGE.

But with a doggy.

B&H Photo Video closes at ONE on Fridays, not at THREE as I keep thinking. Got there at 1:30 and boy was I sad. Walked to 36th & 5th, to "42nd Street Photo" on 36th Street, natch, where I paid more than twice for B&W 120 roll film. Boy are my dogs tired (I live 46th/ 10th).
