It's 22000AD a story within a story, in Book 2 "In with the in crowd" the nobles are documenting the breakdown of society

the failure of household water and effective sewage systems led to some drastic (and instant) realignment of society's value system

There’s a copy of the Penrith Chronicles in every local library in 2451AD

a framed oil painting of one of the fictitious founders of modern day Wolfland, Brigadier Archibald (Archie) Hetherington, wearing his number 1 parade uniform, a tall majestic gentleman with a neat military hairstyle and a contemporary moustache (Brigadier is a UK rank, whereas other armies say Brigadier General). Archie is now retired, a benevolent land owner and farmer, and a strict “law and order” man

Behind the Scenes

However, before OpenMike has a chance to say “and please be back in your seats in thirty minutes,” FullyCharged is off like a shot.

Across the wall at the back of the hall, the catering staff have laid out four tables of drinks and treats. The volunteers RoughDi and ClaireVoyant are running the cake stall, next to Franklin and Faraday who are doing the teas and coffees.

Fully provisioned with a chocolate chip cookie in each hand FullyCharged is hanging around at the back looking for SkippyNightmare, whilst he’s at the front looking for FullyCharged.

As the teenagers amass at the back there’s always a blend of chaos and fun, hazard and triumph. Hayley succeeds in guiding all of her eight year old classmates together. Unfortunately, that also means that FullyCharged and SkippyNightmare are now at peak mischief. Madame Troyes never lets them sit together in her classroom!

FullyCharged, a hyperactive 8 year old boy, he has plenty of golden brown hair on top, which at the sides is neatly under control. His eyes are a deep chestnut colour - uncharacteristically calm in this pose he has a neutral expression with a hint of a smile - he is wearing a white T shirt

The battle inspired William Shakespeare’s play Henry V, written in 1599. The battle forms a significant part of the action and the play includes a famous speech, with the quote “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.”

Chapter 10
The French Pirate

“I can’t do the wavelength you know! I look at your face and your hands, and I can only guess what’s going on!”

“You’re doing fine,” she says, “they like you!”

Relaxing the tenseness of his teeth, he muses, “and they call you Mademoiselle?”

“Usually they only do that when they’re upset with me! They start by saying Mademoiselle Troyes, if you … something, something, something. This time I think mum was just doing it for emphasis, to show that we have French heritage. She’s actually 100% Wolfie. Dad’s the one who’s 2%
French. Or something like that.”

“So you’re 1% French?”

“It doesn’t feel like that! I’m just the same as everybody else here. In our case, you have to go back 250 years to trace

the original Monsieur Troyes.”

“Why did he leave France?”

“The Great Famine!”

At that precise moment a minor crashing noise is heard from the kitchen. As if somebody has dropped a plate on the floor, breaking it into four or five pieces.

“The Great Famine? In 2162?”

“2162 was the year of The Decimation. The famine came a bit later. Anyway, he was trying to find a better life, away from Paris, and he ended up in the Navy. He was captured in the Second Battle of Hastings, imprisoned in Woolwich, and on his release he chose to go into London rather than go back to France.”

“Why did he join the Navy, why didn’t he stay in Paris?”

The Year Of Victory by I. Konev

The author Marshal of the Soviet Union I. Konev, was army and Front commander. The book covers the short concluding phase of the war against Nazi Germany, a period exceptionally rich in events. At the time, I. Konev commanded the 1st Ukrainian Front of the Soviet Army. He tells a vivid and fascinating story of the great Soviet offensive, analyses the military and strategic situation at the time, makes apt and revealing comments on many renowned military leaders, and shows the stamina of the Russian soldier and the magnitude of his feat in the past war.

Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev occupies an eminent place among the distinguished military leaders of the past world war. Troops under his command defeated the Nazis in battles fought at Smolensk, near Moscow and at Kursk and in the Korsun-Shevchenkovskaya, Vistula- Oder and Berlin operations, and liberated Prague, the Czechoslovak capital.

In reply to the questions of Western journalists as to whether he was a career officer in the old Russian Army and how big his family estate was, Konev said:
“I’m afraid I will disappoint you, gentlemen. I’m the son of a poor peasant and belong to that generation of Russian people who met the October Revolution in their youth and identified themselves with it. My military training is Soviet, and therefore good. The successes of the Fronts, which I have been fortunate enough to command, are inseparable from the general successes of the Red Army. We, Soviet workers in soldiers greatcoats, are in all our thoughts bound to our people; we live their lives and fight for our common ideas. This is the source of our strength. For his distinguished service. Marshal Konev was awarded the Order of Victory, the highest Soviet military order.”
