Today I returned to #SOTA DM/BM-047 Großer Arber (#WWFF DLFF-0043, #POTA DE-0011). It was the first summit I ever activated for the program in 2005 - I lived and worked in the region back then. Conditions were nice again after the geomagnetic storm yesterday and I had 27 QSOs in about 30 minutes. The fingers are getting stiff after some time. With a severe geomagnetic storm going on chances are low for a successful #SOTA or #WWFF activation. We chose a walk throgh the nature reserve Pfahl near #Viechtach instead. The weather in the pictures looks worse than it really was: On top of #SOTA DM/BM-002 Pröller (#WWFF DLFF-0043, #POTA DE-0011) we had light winds and no rain at about 8 °C. But there were only a few chasers and I finished the activation with 8 QSOs on #20m after about 20 minutes. I would like to share my only experience with wild grass snakes so far. It was 12 years ago, back then I saw a lot of grass snakes right next to a small forest path. They have been quite busy creating new grass snakes. 😄
