Just read this mind-blowing article about someone summiting the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, wearing the Hypershell exoskeleton! 🤖✨Helps hikers tackle tough terrain with less fatigue—like having superhuman legs!

Personally, not sure about this, but could exoskeletons be the next big thing in outdoor adventures? 🧐 Whether you’re a gearhead or a purist, crazy to see how tech could change exploration.

Just planted a Ribes nigrum 'Ben Nevis' at the fork in my garden path! Excited for future blackcurrants right in the heart of the garden. The path is still a work in progress, but this spot felt perfect for a fruiting shrub. Can’t wait to see it grow!

A tranquil harbor scene with a sailboat anchored near a wooden dock. Reflections of clouds and hills are visible on the calm water, surrounded by lush greenery and distant hills under a partly cloudy sky.

"Burt had thought it the height of absurdity when some of his fellow officers 'took it in their fancy' to try and scale #BenNevis; and the #Wordsworths would surely have frowned on anyone aspiring to a perspective which dwarfed the contours of their inspiration."

John Keay, "Highland Drove", 1984.

The 'Corpach Wreck', as it is known, was a fishing boat that ran aground during a heavy storm in 2011. It lies in the shadow of Ben Nevis, making for an arresting sight on the shores of Loch Linnhe in the Western Scottish Highlands.

West Highland Way (IV): Ben Nevis and home

Having reached Fort William in 5 days, I was definitely hoping to climb Ben Nevis but was a bit unsure whether it would be a good idea after the days spent hiking. After my first ‘full’ breakfast of the trip at the BnB, I decided to first deal with where my ‘no plan plan’ was going to meet the rigid schedule of the railways…

West Highland Way (III): Bridge of Orchy to the end

As we left the story of my adventure on the West Highland Way (WHW), it was 10 pm and I had just set up for the night in the wild camping zone at the Bridge of Orchy having covered 104.3 km of the 154 km trail from Milngavie to Fort William in 3 days of walking…

Beinn Pharlagain, Sgòr Gaibhre, and Càrn Dearg from Loch Eigheach yesterday. Fantastic views towards Schiehallion, Loch Ericht, Ben Alder, Rannoch Moor, Glen Nevis, and Glen Coe. And weather stayed fair.

The summit, Ben Nevis, Fort William, Scotland between ca. 1890 and ca. 1900. Views of landscape and architecture in Scotland Scotland Fort William

loc.gov/pictures/item/20017059

The image depicts a rugged natural landscape, likely a section of the Scottish Highlands. It shows a deep valley with steep rocky cliffs that appear to be part of the Ben Nevis mountain range, which includes the peak of the same name, known as the highest point in the British Isles. The image is characterized by its monochromatic color scheme, which gives it an old or vintage appearance. There are no visible human structures or signs of modern development, suggesting a focus on the untouched natural environment. The style of the photograph suggests it might be from the late 19th to early 20th century, given its sepia tone and subject matter.
