Any recommendations for a new #ereader ?
I'll be moving on from a #kindle and want to avoid vendor lockin. So I'm thinking android based would work out. Something a little bigger than 6" and colour would be nice for technical docs/magazines.
Maybe #boox go color 7, #meebook m6c or, perhaps, #bigme B751C ?
Gotcha. Let's now reverse engineer this EinkManager so we can get Bigme Color on LineageOS and leave Android 11 shall we?
Now this is plain evil by Bigme folks. You really have a daemon that checks for adb and disables it every boot? So you have to go to developer options all the time to re-enable it manually? And then have a check for a file on the sdcard to re-enable it automatically? Why?
Want adb enabled when you plug in the USB cable? create a xrzadbtest123456 file on /mnt/sdcard/ and you are good to go.
Look who is here? Pulled a few tidbits from Bigme Hibreak Color phone to decompile to reverse engineer how the OS and apps interact with the eink display.
@jcrabapple Not actual #eink though. However, the #bigme #Hibreak Pro will have its pre-release in a week. It IS a true e-ink phone.
Looking forward to it.
As for now I'm using a #hisense_a9 with #lineageos as my phone and main e-reader and #podcast & music player.
Bigme Color non-pro got update to 5.4.6 (was on 5.1.8). Rebooted the phone and was still on 5.1.8. Looks like Bigme forgot this is a AB device, updated one slot, the other one running older ROM :omgdotlol:
