Had a lovely time tabling with Friend Cameron at the WABA DC Family Biking shindig at Alithea Tanner Park on Sunday. Nice to see @LhasaCM Ward 5 Family Biking & other Friends of the MVT & MBT. SO MANY #KIDSONBIKES and I finally got to ride our Bunch Bike 10 miles. Imagine driving an electric shopping cart w/a wide turn radius for ten miles. It def helped to have Cam sitting in the box. I'm envisioning some kind of Rally Car-type event with groceries.

The intersection of LBC & MVT is located between the Navy Merchant Marine Memorial & the ramp to the 14th Street Bridge. At the other end, use the west roundabout to connect to Long Bridge Park / Pentagon / Pentagon Metro

2/2 I was happier about the 66 Parallel Trail than I had expected, especially the fact that it dramatically improves regional bike connectivity to the DC Metro system #bikeVA
-though much of the trail is exposed, some parts will be nice in summer
-Blue Ridge Mountains are visible near the Centreville end of the trail
-the trail accesses a new park & ride with a bike cage that is currently under construction
-overlooking the trail’s east end in Dunn Loring

Gave a presentation to a civic assocation about repurposing their street parking for bike lanes and I lived to tell the tale! They didn't like bike lanes but wanted traffic calming and bike lanes are a form of traffic calming. Cautiously optimistic? #bikeva

Been a card carrying member of the all powerful bike lobby for a decade and I still don't understood why people are so irrational about bicycles. I put in 22 bikeshare stations last year and a couple of them have generated disproportional responses from neighboring residents. One wanted to FOIA my whole program. Other keep bugging my elected officials with unfounded nonsense and now one got a meeting. #bikeva #bike
