On July 16, the day after Trump first accused Schiff of wrongdoing, Pulte sent Bish a DM on X asking for her phone number, acc/to msgs reviewed by WaPo. She replied 2 days after & occasionally sent other tidbits. The 2 never spoke, but Pulte messaged back later on to ask for more info, including on Oct 17, when he asked for “whatever schif docs you have.”
She said her earlier jobs as a law firm investigator and loan officer gave her an affinity for hunting down public records. Convinced #AdamSchiff was guilty of wrongdoing, Bish said she has sent batches of his records to members of Congress & the House Ethics Cmte in the past. No one followed up. [sounds like she’s a conspiracy theorist]
Then, this year, Bish saw #BillPulte post about his new tip line. She emailed an extensive Dropbox file — full of her highlights & annotations….
She said she kept trying to steer ofcls back toward #AdamSchiff’s records. But they appeared more interested in learning who had contacted her about her findings, what they asked her & how they identified themselves….
Bish said she started digging into Schiff’s mortgage records years ago when she was running for #Congress in Sacramento & conducting opposition research on other politicians.

Yet the interactions highlight the unconventional & sometimes erratic nature of the #Trump admin’s attempt to prosecute #Democrats on charges of mortgage fraud.
Prosecutors spent >1 hr questioning Bish Thursday about her communications with #DOJ ofcl [& #Jan6 advocate] #EdMartin, #FHFA Dir #BillPulte & others. They appeared to focus on whether these ofcls divulged information about the criminal investigation into #AdamSchiff to unauthorized people & repeatedly asked Bish whom she talked to….A subpoena issued to Bish…also shows that investigators appear focused on anyone she communicated with who claimed to be affiliated with Martin & Pulte.
Until then, Bish wasn’t sure if her April email caught anyone’s attention in Washington, she told WaPo on Friday. But she knew Trump’s post drew from her files because of the highlights marking up the page.

Bish said she’s never spoken to the 2 men outside of an occasional light message on social media, but that her independent probe into #AdamSchiff was submitted to #BillPulte’s office earlier this year & later referred to the #DOJ, where it was handed off to #EdMartin.
“If they’re trying to tie me into some kind of clandestine conspiracy, it’s not there, & the best way to protect myself is to be open & honest & public,” she said [doesn’t mean they aren’t using her for one].
Bish told CNN Thursday that she went before the grand jury with the understanding that she was providing information in an federal investigation into Schiff, but that prosecutors “seemed more concerned” about looking into whether “there was #conspiracy or #collusion between me & Pulte or me & Ed Martin.”
