This is the first time I’ve been able to actually get a clear shot of a Sedge Warbler. It is easy to identify from its song, but it usually keeps hidden in the undergrowth. At this time they are singing a lot, presumably to attract a mate and to let others know this territory is taken. Taken at RSPB Middleton Lakes

This is an Orange Tip, only it doesn’t have orange tips. That’s because it is the female. It has the same markings on the underwings, but only the male has the orange tips to it’s wings. The eye is just fantastic. Taken at RSPB Middleton Lakes

At last, this is the male Blackcap. I posted a pic of the female a while ago and here is a male, with it’s distinctive black wig. They have a really nice song if you are lucky enough to hear it.
